Main changes include:
Goblin (RB) and Cleric archetype (BW) removed = Too streamlined draft experience.
Improved fixing (especially for enemy pairs) = Addition of OG duals (enemy) and Mox Diamond. Quick fixing is crucial for making aggressive decks, such as RW and BW, being able to compete with slower ones.
All looting/direct-into-GY outlets removed outside of U = Helps UB, RB and GB with color identity, where UB facilitates combo reanimation, while RB and GB mostly facilitate value reanimation.
Pariah actually seems quite interesting by either providing good protection or even a softlock when put onto your own resilient creature with protection, or just used as a removal spell when put onto an opponents creature. Shackles is nice but a bit slow.
While Blastoderm is a great threat, Phantom Centaur just synergises better with the aura theme in so many ways.
Helm of Possession seems quite strong while Erratic Portal hasn't made any greater impact. Might need to remove the Helm again if shows itself too strong. Also the artifact 4cmc section is quite full.
Manabarbs seems both interesting as aggro support against big mana decks as well as for building around with non-land ramp.
While removing Hammer of Bagarden hurts, Threaten is not only an iconic red effect to have in the cube, it also seems quite interesting in the face of reanimation and in combination with the many sacrifice effects.
Daze might be an even better tempo support than Force Spike.
There is unfortunately a lack of good aggressive R 2-drops. Mogg Maniac could be fun.
Sengir Autocrat adds 4 sacrificable bodies to the board which is great for several archetypes.
With WotC printing more and more new cards in old border, I find it increasingly difficult to draw a clear line between which of these cards I want to include and which I don't. Therefore, I will now just keep it to the "original" old border cards and thereby remove all the Timeshifted cards.
I had initially included the Timeshifted cards mainly to improve enemy color fixing and the white card pool. But after many drafts and updates I have now found a good identity for white that doesn't require the Timeshifted cards. The enemy color fixing is of course not perfect. But the Planeshift Lairs definitely help.
The original ABU duals would be a great inclusion, but I'm hesitant investing in them considering the price tag and that I only want black bordered ones.
Cutting some (unfortunately also iconic) cards which have been clear powerlevel outliers.
The problem with these cards has been that they often times just win the game once they are played, without needing much build around efforts.
Reanimate, Entomb, Silvos and Laquatus's Champion are a bit too efficient in their cmc costs for other strategies to keep up. This is for instance due to aggressive strategies having less efficient creatures in the old border card pool.
