Here are some of the design goals I had when making this cube:
The cube will be singleton.
Draft formats:
2-players: Pancake Draft, 9 packs of 10
4-players: Regular Draft, 5 packs of 9
The players will get to experience a classic pauper cube style of gameplay. This meaning the cube is combat heavy, there is plenty of targeted removal, card advantage is very important as 2 for 1s are less common, Hexproof and Flying are more powerful than usual, and attrition-based cards are often the best finishers.
This is the only cube I keep a hard even limit on each color and color pair for the number of cards I run.
35 cards for each WUBRG color
2 multicolor cards for each color pair
10 colorless cards
3 lands for each color pair
Cards will be included to push powerful and synergistic gameplay.
The cube will be limited to 35 non-basic lands. 3 dual lands for each color pair and 5 more for 5-color and utility lands.
Aestheticly I like all the cards to be one of their Common printings, thus cards like Battle Screech that have no physical printing at Common are not considered for this cube.
Every other vintage legal card with a common printing is on the table as a possible include.
If a card is not included the reasons could be any of the following:
I don't think it's good enough for this environment.
It's just as good as anything else and I've limited myself to 240 cards!
