The fourth in my series of cubes aimed at teaching new players, the Deciduous Cube follows the Evergreen Cube. There are plenty of evergreen abilities, but this cube serves as a way to introduce players to many of Magic’s most popular recurring mechanics. Without focusing too narrowly on a particular theme, I’m attempting to sprinkle in many different flavors of the game. A big part of the cube is providing cards that give players a choice (Decide-uous, geddit?); there is more to be learned from a card that can do more than one thing.
