This cube doesn't exist. Yet. It is a budget 4-6 player Commander cube, which focuses on recreating the spirit of casual commander games. Much of this cube has been inspired by Commander Legends, with some of the Partner commanders, and the limited archetypes.

Important draft information:

• Meant to be drafted by 4 or 6 players in 3 packs of 20 cards.
• Played in either a 4-person pod, or two 3-person pods.
• You pick two cards with each pick.
• Packs are not seeded. They are fully random.
• Two copies of The Prismatic Piper are available to all players, per player.
• All Commanders have the "Legendary Crown" frame so that the draft is more easily navigable.
• All Partner commanders are Etched Foil so that the draft is more easily navigable.

Important deckbuilding information:

• Decks + Commanders are 60 cards total, no more, no less.
• Staring life is 40.
• Commander damage rule does apply.
• All cards in your deck have to follow your Commander’s color identity.

Commanders Selection

There are 66 Commanders in this cube. 25 of those have "Partner" and can be partnered with other commanders that have "Partner" (or with The Prismatic Piper).

  • There are 4 Partner commander per color, and 5 Guild commanders.
    • The Multicolored Partner commanders are balanced color-wise.
  • There are 36 Commanders with more than one color in their color identity.
    • 3 Commanders per guild (for a total of 30)
    • 5 Tri-Colored Commanders (Esper, Grixis, Naya, Abzan, Temur)
    • 1 Five-Colored Commander (Sisay, Weatherlight Captain)
Environment & Archetypes

The environment resembles Commander Legends, where games are usually won through combat damage, and attacking is incentivized through various means. Excluding the Commanders themselves, most of the cards are not narrow in their use and can go into multiple decks, serving different roles under different commanders. There's also an emphasis on Multiplayer Matter cards, either with cards that directly reference multiplayer such as Council's Judgment, Tempt with Discovery, or with cards that get better when facing numerous opponents (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Deep-Sea Kraken).

The Average Mana Value (CMC) of the cube is ~3.5, much higher than the ~2.7 of my usual cube. I still tried to keep most cards in the 2-5 mana Range, but you'll find much more 7+ Mana Cards in this cube, than you'll find one drops. Some colors don't even have one drops!

Curses! A Monarchy!

Although I haven't included even half of the Curse cards available in Magic, there's a significant selection of Curse Cards in this cube, most of which incentivize players to swing their creatures sideways at their opponents. There are 8 Curse cards, most of which centered in Jund colors (naturally, Black gets the most), with White getting none.

There are also 9 cards that put the Monarchy in play, not all of which have appeared in Commander Legends.
