Welcome back to the '90s!

This Old School Cube is comprised of white-bordered cards from Magic's first 7 years (1993-2000): Unlimited, Revised, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Edition core sets, as well as the compilation sets Chronicles and Anthologies from the same era (and a couple of reprints from the Rivals Quick Start and Battle Royale Box pre-con decks to round out the card pool).

Notable Inclusions

• The Power Nine are present, but difficult to abuse due to the generally lower power level of nearly every other card in the cube, so you can be excited to draft a Black Lotus or a Mox -- but you don't need to auto-concede when you play against them!
• The 10 original Dual Lands
• The first cycle of Elder Dragons
• Cards banned or restricted in Vintage and Legacy formats: Balance, Channel, Chaos Orb, Demonic Tutor, Mana Vault, Sol Ring, Strip Mine, Time Vault, Wheel of Fortune
• A cycle of big creatures with absurd downsides: Personal Incarnation, Leviathan, Cosmic Horror, Orgg, Force of Nature
• A cycle of cards that have no idea what their color identity is: Witch Hunter, Mind Bomb, Uncle Istvan, Uthden Troll, Storm Seeker
• And more!

Notable Exclusions

• I have tried to limit/remove outdated or confusing keywords like Banding and Rampage and Horsemanship which no longer appear in the Modern Magic player's vernacular.
• I have also steered away from anti/protection from [color] creatures and spells, which were prominent in the first core sets, since they might lead to lopsided match-ups.
• Same goes for [Land]walk abilities.
• No lords or tribal synergies.
• "Mana Burn" is not a thing.
• We ain't playing for Ante.
