Mono-Red Slice
This is a slice (half a cube!). It's intended to be drafted by four players, in five packs of nine.
This is my attempt at showcasing many different facets of red as a color. It's relatively high-power, inspired by decks from the MTGO vintage cube, as well as different mono-red Canadian Highlander decks. It was not designed around specific archetypes: since every card can go in anyone's deck, drafting here is more an effort in crafting a consistent game plan for your deck (rather than, say, finding your lane among a set of 10 established decks).
Each pack contains 1 land and 8 nonlands (for the purposes of seeding, Shatterskull Smashing and 0-mana artifacts are considered to be nonland cards). Players draft 5 of these packs, and then may add any number of mountains to their deck. Other basic lands are not available, with one exception: there are two copies of Snow-Covered Mountain in the cube, and drafting either or both of those "unlocks" the ability to add snow mountains instead of regular mountains.

I think it’s time to finally admit that nobody’s playing a Sword of X and Y in this cube, even with pro red being at its best here.
And Runaway Steam-Kin just hasn’t been as explosive as I’d imagined it might be.
