  • I played with Snap in a Dominaria Remastered draft and quite like it there. Familiar's Ruse hasn't seen much play with my group, but it's one I'm fond of so hopefully it's likely to be considered again in the future.
Out
  • I want to focus on life loss effects in WB which are separate from a corresponding gain effect, so Suture Priest gets cut.
  • Suffer the Past is a pet card of mine but usually just ends up gaining an annoying amount of life instead of being a mill finisher.
  • The treasure from Prosperous Innkeeper is really the only thing I like about it, and green doesn't really want it that much anyways.
In
  • Planar Disruption is a good card that served me well at prerelease. I suspect I may have gone overboard with good white removal, but I'll wait to see if that is the case during play.
  • Clawing Torment seems very appealing from an effect and flavour perspective. It also only causes life loss and no life gain, which is nice.
  • Sultai has a lot of graveyard, mill, and counters flying around, so I'm hoping Unnatural Restoration is useful for those decks.

If there is no list of changed cards to the left, you may need to view this post on the blog listing page instead.

This update focuses on lands, improving support for Jund counters, Jeskai Artifacts, and Sultai Graveyard, as well as increasing and improving removal, and finally trimming lifegain and some "defenders".

Lands in Hands

The big change here is bumping both Ash Barrens and Fabled Passage up to 4 each. I've avoided fetchlands until now, but this change improves both fixing and also land-focused graveyard synergies, most notably with Slogurk, the Overslime and Centaur Vinecrasher.

Faerie Conclave, Mystic Sanctuary, and Dakmor Salvage have also been added, bolstering the "lands that do things" category.

Joy Sparks
  • Enthusiastic Mechanaut, Arcbound Shikari, Glassdust Hulk and Malcator, Purity Overseer all signpost and support Jeskai artifacts. Though artifact synergies occur throughout the cube, they are most prevalent in those colours. Golems are another sub-theme I adore, which Hulk and Malcator help support wonderfully.

  • Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel has taken the place of Good-Fortune Unicorn. Yannik also overlaps with both flicker and counter strategies, but gives players more decisions to make when distributing the counters. Unicorn has been a nice include for a few decks, but it felt a bit bland despite its solid effect.

Notable Potables Added Removal

Removal count has been increased, as well as a slight improvement on their general ability to handle larger threats.

Curious Companions

Skorpekh Lord, Bygone Bishop, and Devilish Valet are cards that I hope will play well, but will be keeping an eye on for power and play pattern issues.

Fond Farewells
Cuts ✂

🟥 Valduk, Keeper of the Flame
I was very excited to finally get this card working with NEO's reconfigure cards, but it was not to be. The one thing that softens the blow is getting rid of a unique token.

🟥 Twinferno
Early on, Izzet was focused on my beloved copying of spells and cloning of creatures. Twinferno has continued to scratch that itch quite well, and I will still keep it in mind, but right now I want to test other cards.

🟥 Ornithopter of Paradise
I am not nearly as concerned about fixing now as I was when there were fewer fixing lands in the cube. Vanilla Ornithoper is still here to carry the torch.

Adds ➕

🟩 Scrapwork Mutt
Plenty of synergies with artifacts, graveyard, flicker, draw, and discard. Also a very good boy.

🟩 Bitter Reunion
Not completely sold on this, but wanted to toss it in there since it seems promising.

🟩 Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist
Modified to create Treasure and Golems. Will be keeping an eye on this, but should help improve artifact synergies in black.

Swaps 🔁

🟥 Sailor of Means
🟩 Thopter Mechanic
I'm optimistic for Mechanic's double draw and acceptable Thopter creature type. Sailor has been in the list since for a very long time, but isn't really up to the task these days. Farewell to my favourite Ixalan limited staple.

🟥 Veinwitch Coven
🟩 Gixian Puppeteer
Coven is still welcome, but I want to see how Puppeteer works out if only to get more second draw effects in there.

🟥 Feldon of the Third Path
🟩 Feldon, Ronom Excavator
I really wanted Old Feldon to work but it never quite got there. Most of the graveyard shennanigans are in other colours anyways, so Yung Feldon is trying out for team aggro.

🟥 Inferno Titan
🟩 Tyrant of Kher Ridges
Lets see what the new kid on the block has to say.

🟥 Satyr Wayfinder
🟩 Blanchwood Prowler
Green already has a ton of +1/+1 counters, but Satyr felt a bit too narrow and a bit of a filler card in many decks.

🟥 Oran-Rief Ooze
🟩 Simian Simulacrum
Added artifact and graveyard synergy, with a very similar ETB effect. I certainly won't miss hunting for the correct side of the dice several times over on Ooze's attack trigger.

🟥 Saheeli, Sublime Artificer
🟩 Third Path Iconoclast
As much as I dislike planeswalkers, I've grown somewhat fond of Saheeli. Iconoclast is coming to fill this role in for now though, albeit modified to create Servos instead of Soldiers.

🟥 Hidden Stockpile
🟩 Fleshtaker
Not super keen on revolt giving players a pop quiz at the end of their turn. There are plenty of Servo sources elsewhere now, and Fleshtaker providing a body welcomed.

Fixing a mispelled card.

Mainboard Changelist+1, -1

One less unique token, more servos, and moving from a very strong flicker target to a slightly less strong and more synergistic one.
