Type Four is supposed to be about playing with incredibly powerful cards, but I hate the feeling of drawing a card that is worse than a card somebody else drew. So, I'm cutting some of the long-time powerhouses. Time Stop is both the best counterspell and the best fog. Aethersnatch, Spelljack and Smirking Spelljacker are right behind it. Gather Specimens is the best control magic. Gideon's Phalanx is the best wrath-dodger.

Hateflayer has to leave because they finally printed a vehicle worthy of inclusion. Three card combos are fine, but two card combos are not.

Sakashima's Student is leaving because I only own one copy and I want to put it in my cube.

Beyond that, most of the cuts are just weak or boring cards leaving to make room for different stuff.

The four extra cards come from desleeving the four Reassembling Skeletons that I kept in the box in case somebody drew Bone Rattler.

If you exile Hypnotic Siren with Ellie and Alan, Paleontologists, you may end up rifling through hundreds of cards before you hit one of the three other one-drops in the stack. That would suck, so I'm cutting the Siren (also it's kind of boring).

It is possible that Drana and Linvala could steal one of many possible tap abilities plus Hateflayer's untap ability and instantly end the game, but that's a risk I'm willing to take because it sounds cool.

Nymris just turns the game into Archenemy but not in a fun way.

It turns out that flipping a battle actually requires you to cast it, thus creating scenarios where you either get locked out of casting something else or don't get your cool reward for flipping it. Bummer.

If you play with a less strict interpretation of the "one spell a turn" rule, then I think they're pretty sweet.

A sleeve broke. Trove is very strong and not terribly fun anymore.

Cutting some powerful but boring cards in favor of some Unfinity nonsense.

The store we usually play at has six to eight trash cans in the play area, so Questionable Cuisine can gain a lot of life.

Some big changes.

I've cut most of the creatures that kill something or wrath the board or tap everything down or bounce everything when they enter the battlefield. My hope is create bigger board states with more decisions and weirder combat steps.

The two creatures that make everyone discard were just frustrating.

Pathbreaker Ibex and Siege Behemoth usually just murdered someone as soon they hit the board. Akroma wasn't as bad, but not terribly fun either.

From the Catacombs gets cut because the first room of the Undercity causes the player to search the deck (for a card that isn't there).

Do-Over is a hilarious card that I recommend everyone try a few times and then cut because it always makes a huge mess of the game.

The 40k decks have a bunch of sweet cards in them and most of them are quite cheap.

Stunt Double comes back in because I didn't realize that Mocking Doppelganger can't copy your own creatures.

The morphs are gone. RIP.

Piru led to some miserable games where someone gained hundreds of life and couldn't be killed.

Tovolar's Huntmaster is clearly a good card, but it's just kind of boring.

From the Catacombs is cool, but I didn't realize that the first room causes you to search the deck (for a card that isn't there). So, you don't really get value unless you hold onto the initiative or take it back. We'll see if that becomes irksome.

A sleeve broke. Greenwarden is good, but boring.
