All 10 fetches are on Arena?! Getting closer to the paper list. Drafting this Saturday!
Bringing the Arena version up-to-date!
We made some big changes in Amonkar to help games end faster ahead of CubeCon, primarily focusing on reducing unique tokens, high toughness creatures, and life gain. Time isn't as much of a concern on Arena, but I still feel many of the changes are good for the environment here as well.
Many new tools, especially excited for new artifacts and DFC lands
Tons of new Deserts-matter cards AND new Deserts! Now about 1/4 of the lands are Deserts. Rise of the Varmints replaces the fallen Spider Spawning and hopefully can do a better job of closing games out, rather than stalling them out.
Quite a large update! From MKM, I really enjoy the power 2 or less theme, 'drawing extra cards' focus which work well with my Cycling theme, and hybrid//hybrid spells (minus Hustle//Bustle). I also enjoy that I can ignore a big swath of cards by not caring about Disguise, Cloak, Detectives, or Suspect. This is also the happiest I have been with an enemy-color dual cycle in the absence of enemy Bicycle lands.
A shame to see Spider Spawning cut, but it's so easy to feed to a huge size, difficult or impossible to answer once it resolves, and if graveyards get exiled, does nothing at all. I avoid cards with such a wide delta. The Ancient One looked ideal in theory, but practice has shown it to be extremely slow if it ever does anything. Lazav looks like a good way for the mill deck to manage anything valuable it provides to the opponent by accident.
Feedback from Jank Diver Gaming draft #2Too many power outliers remained, but hopefully this update catches most of them! The Tricolor cards have been cut, if you cast one on time it was often unbeatable, and at least two would wheel around the draft forever, pointlessly. I'm afraid the options available to me on Arena just aren't in the power band I'm looking for. Sorry Jan Jansen.
We had two full pods! Got a lot of nice feedback from folks, as well as some warnings: Alchemy cards are STRONG and the A-version of cards don't work.
Adding back in all the LCI cards as well as cutting out some of the color-fixing lands: It made casting the Tricolor cards extremely easy and then they felt overpowerful for the effort required. Looking forward to future online drafts!
I love all the new LCI cards, but they won't be on Arena on 11/12 when this cube gets drafted! Making this temporary change for that draft, and reverting immediately after.
Ready for test!
