# Cube Overview This is a cube designed around AFR and CLB and their corresponding precons. There is some Eldraine thrown in as needed since it mostly fits the flavor. Designed to be drafted like commander legends. I am considering "readjusting" the cards with the alchemy versions if some of the cards prove to be too underpowered (like the venture land cause it is pretty bad). Note that there isn't a balance bewteen colors. This is because I wanted two things for sure with the card choices. 1) Include all rulebook showcase printings, and 2) include (nearly) all legendary cards. ## Cube Goals 1) Make a set that makes logical sense entirely within the Forgotten Realms World 2) Emulate the feel of commander 3) Have fast games the reward combat to avoid board stalls 4) Allow for big swingy plays that don't feel backbreaking ### How to Draft * Draft 3 20 card packs * 1 legend and 1 background per pack * A player picks 2 cards per pack #### Tips to draft different formats 6-8 players: Draft and split into 2 pods. 4-5 players: Draft and play 1 pod. 3 or fewer players: Play sealed. ... Or if you prefer to play sealed, that's always fine too of course. 6 packs is the ideal number for sealed. If you want a higher powered sealed environment you can go up to 8. ### Deck Construction Recommended Deck size. 36 non-land cards, 1-2 of those being commanders, and 24 lands. All mono-colored legendary creatures have "Chose a Background". I am considering dropping some of the legendary creatures (like the mythic dragons or other legendary figures) from this custom rule. Since this is commander, it is recommended to have sources of ramp, adequate card advantage, and a density of removal. But this being draft, the format is slower than normal commander. You have 2 "Faceless Ones" in your pool at the start of the draft. They are not including in the list but allow for any two color pairing a player wishes. ## Custom Rules ### Grand Master of Flowers When GMoF is drafted, he comes with 1 copy of "Monk of the Open Hand" added to your draft pool. 2 more are possibly available in the cube as well. ### Expanded Party Because I think party fits well, I am adding extra party types. To keep the math of "having a full party" the same (i.e. needed 4 creatures) I am mapping party types as such. Having one means you have the other and visa-versa Warrior <--> Knight (Think paladin) Cleric <--> Warlock (The caster in service to an outer being) Wizard <--> Shaman (These sets use 'Shaman' as sorcerer) Rogue <--> Ranger (The stealthy scout member) I will be adding a sticker on the inside of cards that 1) fall under these expanded party types, or 2) care about party types to remind a player that the types are extended. ## Archetypes ### Azorius {W/U} > Gather your party and venture into the dungeon, heaping great rewards as you go!
