It's been a while!
Back in Februrary, I held a draft and got some VERY good data for the set. Some nice! And some not so nice. There were two large issues identified during the draft:
More fixing is needed across the board. Mono color decks were struggling to cast their spells, and not getting significant enough benefit for it.
BG needs serious re-jigging. Both players who chose to draft BG came away with a negative experience.
This update aims to fix both issues. For the first issue, I aim to fix this issues by changing only the Bonus Sheet; I'll take out some colorless lands and replace them with thriving lands and vivid lands. I believe these are better since you only need to be one of those lands potential colors for them to be good fixing, rather than a two color land.
For the BG problem, I'm going to give it a new identity: Threshold. It's not specifically land focused, but the cards you'd want to play to get it are tangentially related, so that should suffice. This should hopefully give BG a more exciting and coherent game plan and make the mirror less of a grindfest.
On top of that, I'm also leaning deeper into the 'eight or more lands' cards from STX. Should give UG more of an identity and incentivize a longer term game plan.
This is a big update, I'll explain my rationale for each of these changes at a later date.
