Tarkir: Dragonstorm has arrived! This set brought fewer changes than I expected, probably because so many of the cards are three-color and therefore have less use in this cube. Nevertheless there are still some great additions, particularly for blue graveyard strategies.

I'm also adding some additional build-arounds to the cube such Vengevine to spice up the draft more. I do worry that these additions may increase the power level of the cube too much, so I may end up reverting these additions in the future to emphasize longer games.

Atraxi Warden -> Sanctuary Warden: Adding Sanctuary Warden to give tokens a powerful top-end card that doubles as a good reanimator target.

Curator of Mysteries -> Sphinx of Forgotten Lore: The UB discard deck has enough powerful pay-offs that the Sphinx is often unneeded. I'm switching it for another Sphinx that provides blue more graveyard synergies.

Watcher of hours -> Diviner of Mist: Switching one large graveyard-focused flier for another. Watcher is a personal favorite card, so I wouldn't be surprised if I end up reversing this change.

The Bath Song -> Winternight Stories: Winternight Stories fills basically the same roles as The Bath Song as a powerful repeat draw effect, but is also a sorcery for the spells deck and can be played out of the graveyard, giving it additional synergies with blue's other archetypes.

Rune-Scarred Demon -> Rot-Curse Rakshasa: Rune-Scarred Demon was originally added to give BW reanimator a strong, but not too strong, fatty in black to target. However, I've found it unnecessary, as BW decks usually have other good targets such as Ashen Rider that are low priorities for other decks. Rot-Curse Rakshasa is far more interesting and gives a unique effect to aggressive graveyard-based decks.

Boneyard Mycodrax -> Qarsi Revenant: Qarsi Revenant provides a more unique effect than Boneyard Mycodrax. Nighthawk statlines have been problematic in past limited envirionments, so this change is one I may reverse is Revenant makes aggression too difficult.

From Under the Floorboards -> Welcome the Dead: From Under the Floorboards only occasionally saw play in the UB deck, which Welcome the Dead also plays well in while also having a place in other black decks. I'll mourn dropping another madness card.

Reckless Detective -> Inti, Seneschal of the Sun: The power level of the cube is increasing enough with this update that I want to add Inti to support the madness deck.

Moraug, Fury of Akoum -> Ox of Agonas: GR lands is in a much better spot with the addition of Molten Vortex and supporting cards such that I don't feel the need to run Mourag. Agonas is a classic card that I think fits well in this cube.

Hydra Trainer -> Formation Breaker: Hydra Trainer permanently rode the sideboard even in counter decks. Formation Breaker provides a unique form of evasion for GW decks that want to be more aggressive.

Courser of Kruphix -> Floral Evoker: Floral Evoker synergizes with every green archetype in the cube, so it's a shoo-in for the cube. I don't like the 2/4 statline and how it can gum up the board against aggressive decks, so I'm cutting Courser for now.

Roaring Earth -> Synchronized Charge: Synchronized Charge is an interesting overwhelm variant for token decks, and I've wanted to add a similar card for a while. Roaring Earth is decent but not required for the landfall deck, so I'm cutting it for now.

Wickerfolk Thresher -> Vengevine: Vengevine is a personal favorite card that I would like to feature in this cube. Thresher is good but gets the cut, as the other cards in this slot are needed for other archetypes.

Cavalier of Thorns -> Kura, the Boundless Sky: Switching out Cavalier for a mythic that is fully devoted to supporting lands strategies while remaining very strong in other decks.

Bloodghast -> Skyclave Shade: Skyclave synergizes far better with Vengevine than Bloodghast by providing cast triggers, so it gets the nod here.

Osseous Sticktwister -> Tenacious Underdog: Similar to the switch from Bloodghast to Skyclave, Tenacious Underdog supports aggro decks while synergizing with Vengevine.

Molten-Tail Masticore -> Traxos, Scourge of Kroog: Traxos is intended as a build-around for artifact decks, while the Masticore tends to do less well in them because they have trouble supplying cards to be discarded.

Tracker's Instincts -> Auroral Procession: GU has become much more about casting spells from the graveyard with some of the changes made in this iteration, which makes Tracker's Instincts less good. Auroral Procession better supports GU's overall gameplan.

Fact or Fiction -> Stock Up: A small upgrade for blue's suite of draw spells.

These changes are intended to improve the lands archetype in the cube by providing it more interesting options beyond just landfall triggers. I'm going to test these first changes and then see if there's reasons to make more changes.

Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith -> Countryside Crusher: Countryside Crusher provides unique synergy with the many discard and mill effects in the cube and is better for offensive red decks that I think need the boost. Toggo has been too slow and often ride the sideboard even in decks I would expect him to be useful for.

Brushfire Elemental -> Living Twister: Added to support Seismic Assault style strategies as well as provide an additional tool for consistently generating landfall triggers. Brushfire Elemental was weak and mostly stuck around because I couldn't identify an alternative.

Blazing Rootwalla -> Molten Vortex: Testing Molten Vortex to provide an alternative way to use lands for red decks. Rootwalla is a hard cut, but it doesn't always make it into aggressive decks and is less important as an aggro body for the madness deck with the addition of Marauding Mako

Jaxis, the Troublemaker -> Glint-Horn Buccaneer: Buccaneer provides a discard outlet and useful synergy with various discard effects in the cube. Jaxis is a strong card but offers less synergies with other red-based decks. We'll see if Buccaneer underperforms and this cut needs to be reversed.

Chainweb Aracnir -> Life from the Loam: Seismic Assault style decks wouldn't be complete without Life from the Loam. Chainweb Arancir gets the cut here not because it's weak but because players just don't use it.

Beanstalk Giant -> Braulios of Pheres Band: Both of these cards support the lands deck, but Braulios provides card draw. Beanstalk Giant's ramp effect has always been somewhat awkwardly positioned for green in this cube, as the color provides less value for investing heavily in early ramp.

I'm strongly considering adding Vengevine, Ox of Agonas,Inti, Sphinx of Forgotten Lore, Multani, Soul of Yavimaya and perhaps a few other mythics to the cube to add some more interesting build arounds and spice the cube up. But right now I'm pretty happy with how the cube plays and I don't anticipate huge changes moving forward.

Fear of Surveillance -> Warden of the Inner Sky: Fear of Surveillance doesn't see much play in white graveyard decks right now. Warden provides an interesting creature for artifact and counter decks.

Emry, Lurker of the Loch -> Forensic Gadgeteer: Forensic Gadgeteer plays better with blue artifact's theme of having a lot of artifacts. I'll carefully consider what should stay in this slot, however, as Emry is also a very good card.

Golbin Razerunners -> Akoum Firebird: Razerunners hasn't impressed me, and I want to give landfall decks more of a reason to play red.

Harrier Strix -> Enclave Cryptologist: Cryptologist serves the same function but is stronger and can provide late-game card advantage.

Pteramander -> Harrier Strix: Strix is a more interesting card for this cube, and Pteramander doesn't generally see play even in the spells deck.

Hedron Crab -> Hard Evidence: Both of these cards are good, but Hard Evidence plays better across multiple archetypes for blue.
