An MTG cube celebrating D&D and the Forgotten Realms.
Design Principles:
The cube should be fun to play.
The starting point is to include most cards from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. AFR cards that truly suck or don't make sense in limited should be excluded.
The class cards from AFR should all be playable, except perhaps Barbarian.
Non-AFR cards are selected to complement AFR cards or round out the cube. When possible without compromising the gameplay, preference is given to cards with strong D&D associations. Goblins, Dragons, Orcs, Dwarves, and Elves are preferred to creature types that are not traditionally associated with D&D. Spells with names that correspond to iconic D&D spells also get preference.
Notes:
Some departures from singleton were made to keep dungeon venturing viable. No attempt was made to take advantage of d20 rolling synergies, but many cards that involving rolling a d20 are good without synergies and were included.
Barbarian Class is the only class card left out. It's very dependent on d20 rolling, which so far is specific to AFR. Making it viable would seem to require including multiple copies of red AFR cards, and I'd rather avoid that.
Bard Class will be far more viable in the cube than it is in AFR block draft because strong legendary creatures are reliably available.
