A cube based on the set Zendikar Rising, with the goal of powering up and balancing the archetypes. Not a true set cube limited to only cards from a block/set, but rather built with a higher power level in mind off of the draft framework of Zendikar Rising

Strix 5N

  • Mid power level with synergy driven archetypes. Non-Green archetypes focus on typal or party synergies, whilst Green focuses on big-mana ramp in Landfall and Kicker synergies.
w-ub-rw-b - Party Archetypes - w-ub-rw-b

Party decks can work in pretty much any colour combination, but ideally you should be in w-u, b-r, or b-w to get access to your party payoff cards

Many of the typal cards for each party group synergize with their specific type, but most will work well in both the party decks, and their specific typal list. The cube is designed to accommodate for 1 player drafting any given type, and 2 players drafting party so there should be enough options and payoffs for every player.

w-bu-bu-rw-r - Typal Archetypes - w-bu-bu-rw-r

Every typal deck should have enough options for the party decks aswell as the individual dual colour types. The types aren't exclusive to their colour combo and players can expect to see relevant typal creatures in the other 3 colours, especially green.

wb - Clerics/Sacrifice & Revive | Cleric of Life's Bond
ub - Rogues/Mill Tempo | Anowon, the Ruin Thief
ur - Wizards/Cantrip Draw | Aegar, the Freezing Flame
rw - Warriors/Equipment Aggro | Koll, the Forgemaster

w-gu-gg-bg-r - Non-Party (Green) Archetypes - w-gu-gg-bg-r

Green has a selection of options for the party archetypes, and some powerful glue pieces, but doesn't have a specific typal archetype. Rather Green has support for Landfall in g-w and g-b and support for Kicker in g-u and g-r. All 4 archetypes are happy to put more lands in play, whether triggering landfall or generating value, or ramping up to big kicker spells.

These archetypes can play on their own in 2 colour combos, or in all 3 colours, and don't focus too much on their tertiary colour pairing. (u-r/b-w)

gw - Lands/Midrange | Knight of the Reliquary
bg - Lands/Graveyard | Nissa of Shadowed Boughs
gu - Kicker/Ramp | Verazol, the Split Current
rg - Kicker/Midrange | Hallar, the Firefletcher

Blue and red also have their own landfall support pieces that can benefit any landfall deck looking to splash into a third or fourth colour.

Bant landfall lists can specifically take advantage of the combo with Knight of the Reliquary and Retreat to Coralhelm to win in conjunction with other landfall cards.

Lands

The lands in the cube are not full cycles, but rather two cycles for the party and non-party archetypes
