Welcome! For you MTG players, this cube is going to look exceptionally strange but that is because this is not a Magic: The Gathering cube but rather a Yu-Gi-Oh! Cube!
The pool of cards this cube is built from the sets that comprise the famous legacy Goat format, which is basically everything released before Cybernetic Revolution. However, I am forgoing the banned list, so any card that exist in the previously mentioned pool is eligible to be included (So yea, CED is in this, and yea, it probably won't be sticking around long).
CubeCobra obviously does not have Yu-Gi-Oh! cards coded to the site so I have assigned each card a "similar" counterpart and have updated all of the images so the best way to view the cube is via the visual view.
Cards are sorted as follow:
White = Normal Monsters
Blue = Effect Monsters
Black = Fusion Monsters
Red = Traps
Green = Spells
Now, for you Yu-Gi-Oh! players, you may not know what a cube is so let me explain. Cube is a curated draft format where players build their decks by selecting them from "packs". To start, each player (assuming an 8 players) will get 3 fifteen card "packs", which are just a randomized selection of fifteen card piles pulled from the cube. (This will allow the whole cube to be seen each draft as 15x3x8=360). Then, each player will pick up their first "pack", select a card they want to put into their deck, and pass the remaining cards to the player to their left. Then, after each player has passed their "pack", they will pick up the now 14 card "pack" passed to them, select a card from that "pack", and pass the remaining 13 cards to the player to the left. This will continue until each card in the first set of "packs" has been drafted. After which, each player will open their second "pack", draft a card they want, and pass the now 14 card "pack" but this time TO THE RIGHT. As with the first pack each player will draft a card and pass each "pack" until the "packs" are exhausted. This will continue with the final and third "pack" with the passing again going to the left. The result will be each player with a stack of 45 cards.
Now each player will build a 30 card deck out of their 45 card pool and then will pair up and battle against the other players!
FAQ:
Q: Are Fusion Monsters drafted?
A: Yes, Fusion Monsters are a part of the cube pool and will be randomly dispersed across the "packs". If you want a certain Fusion, you will need to select it with a pick.
