πŸ’  | Design Notes | πŸ’

Here is where I will attempt to go into a little more detail on my decisions to include/exclude any pieces in this cube without bogging down the rest of the more basic information.

  • Ultimately, cards should keep games moving toward an end. This is both a desire to have actions progress the game-state, as well as absence of mechanics that I judge as requiring too much time to preform.
  • Creatures are generally around the X/2 stat-line with a fair number of X/3s. This is intended to cause more trades when creatures fight and boards to stall less.
  • No searching libraries. Constant shuffling can burn a lot of time and the increased consistency of decks I find less interesting.
  • No dual-faced cards. I just don’t care for them, to be honest.
  • No effects that return a mass number of cards to the library.
  • There is heavy support for allied color pairs and lighter support for the enemy color pairs. This cube treats pairs as if the same rules for allied/enemy apply, barring the presence of green. As such, there are the 4 allied color pairs (1 for each tribe), alongside 2 enemy color pairs (being Azorius w-u and Rakdos b-r.)
