Preamble:

Type 4 is also known as Limited Infinity. I've had this "cube" kicking around since 1998ish, long before "cubes" were a thing. The
"deck list" has changed over the years but mostly I put in draft chaff and overpriced cards with a focus on Flash and Instants so
that players have more opportunities to play cards from their hand's. Here is a link, and an excerpt, from the wiki page on Type 4
from mtg.gamepedia:

  • Unlimited quantities of mana- Each player has access to an arbitrarily large quantity of mana at all times. Sometimes this is interpreted as each player controlling an infinite number of indestructible, shrouded basic lands, which would affect any cards which reference a player controlling these basic lands.
  • One spell limit on each turn- A player can only cast one spell on each turn, as if anArcane Laboratory were in play at all times. A player can play one spell on their own turn, as well as a spell during each opponents' turn as long as they would normally be able to do so.

These basic rules can be interpreted and modified in a variety of ways. One of the most common variations to these basic tenets, is the concept that any card cast through a cost outside of the usual casting cost in the top-right corner of the card will not count as your spell for the turn.

My house rules for multi-player w/o drafting:
  1. The deck, and graveyard are communal.
  2. Priority for communal resources works like priority normally does. If a spell with flashback is in the graveyard, it may be cast by whomever has priority in the order priority is passed. The same goes for drawing cards as the stack resolves, and with priority for turn etc.
  3. Any card with Buyback has a "Buyback counter". When that spell is cast a "Buyback counter" is added to the card. If a card with "Buyback" has 3 counters on it, it loses "Buyback" and can no longer be "bought back".
  4. After each round is won, only the remaining cards in the stack(deck) move to the next round.
  5. The ultimate winner is decided based on points of wins per round.
  6. Winner gets 2 points, runner up gets 1 point and first to go out gets .5 points and chooses play order in the next round.
Extra information:
  1. As there is no basic land required for type 4, once you've drafted your 45 cards you can remove 5 and the remaining 40 is your deck.
  2. Alternate casting costs do not count toward the 1 spell/turn aka "one spell per turn" rule.
  3. Cycling cards and any other card effects do not count towards "playing a spell". Normal timing rules still apply.
  4. Lands do not count towards "playing a spell" as they're lands.
  5. Some of my cards have been edited from Sorcery to Instant:
    a. Kiss of the Amesha
    b. Kiss of Death
    c. Pulse of the Tangle
    d. Natural Spring
    e. Titanic Ultimatum
    f. Pulse of the Dross
    g. Lightning Surge
    h. Cinder Storm
  6. Cards with Errata:
    a. Quicken - "Quicken does not count towards your 1 spell per turn limit. You may play another spell this turn."
  7. Suggested cards to remove when drafting for 1 v 1
    a. Invulnerability
Note to visitors:

If you have drafted/played/have any comments or suggestions for new cards please leave a comment. Thanks for viewing and I hope to get a game of "in between rounds" Type4 with you in person one day.
