a dominion-style experience for 2-4 players
‣ 10 cards from the cube are laid out faceup to form the market
‣ players start with 30 life
‣ starting hand size is 0 cards
‣ each player receives a 12-card starting deck:
triggers
‣ at the beginning of the draw step on your turn, draw 5 cards (3 cards on first player's first turn)
‣ if you would draw a card while your library is empty, instead shuffle your graveyard into your library and draw a card
‣ at the beginning of the end step preceding your turn, discard your hand
actions
‣ you may discard a land at any time to activate one of its tap abilities; this doesn't use the stack
‣ you may play cards from your hand without paying their mana cost
‣ as a special action as often as you like you may buy a card from the market by paying its generic mana value (or for a land), put it in your graveyard, then replace it
‣ as a special action as often as you like you may pay to exile all cards from the market and replace them
reminders
‣ when playing a card without paying its mana cost, you can't pay alternative costs, x must be 0, you may pay additional costs (like kicker), and must pay required additional costs
‣ special actions (buy and refresh) may only be taken on your turn as a sorcery
‣ looking at or putting from the top of your library aren't draw effects that trigger a shuffle up
playing on cockatrice is easy, but will require manual actions by one player to manage the market
download the 12-card starting deck and use that (or make their own with 2 each of wizard's rockets and the 5 basic lands) and load into the game as usual
when you want to purchase a card, point at it with an arrow (rtclick+drag) to make it easier for the host to find
create a second rooster rangers account, so you can play on one and manage the market on the other (this is easier if you have a second monitor for the shop account, but not required)
to get the cube list, simply export the cubecobra list as a .txt, copy the mainboard cards to your clipboard, load the deck editor in cockatrice, ctrl+shift+v, paste in, and save deck
launch cockatrice.exe twice, log in to your two accounts, and create a game as usual, but with the player starting health at 30. once in, on the market account, simply drag ten cards from the deck into the host's 'the stack' zone to create the market, then roll for starting player as usual
managing the market
‣ when a player purchases a card, drag that card from the stack onto that player's land zone and replace it. they can then move the purchased card into their own graveyard
‣ when refreshing the market, lclick+dragabox around the old cards, move to exile, then replace
