This cube is meant to be drafted very closely to how Commander Legends was drafted. Three packs of twenty taking 2 cards a round and at the end of that your goal is to be able to make a 50 card commander deck picking up your commander(s) along the way.
If you are for some reason unable to build a 50 card deck with a proper commander at the helm you get the joy of leading Prismatic Pipers into battle.
A few special rules for this cube.
Hybrid Mana costs can be played in any deck where at least one of the colors is in your Commander's color identity. This extends to Phyrexian Mana as well so yes your Mono-red Deck can in fact play Spellskite if you want.
If you happen across an infinite combo you can only run the loop twice per turn even if the loop would not usually end there. There are not many of these interactions but as cards get added a few might slip under our gaze.
Some cards in the cube may be banned in regular commander. Just smile and wave then try your best to prove to the table that card should in fact be banned.
Design Philosophy.
The cube was designed with fun and interactive commander games in mind. one thing you will quickly notice is the lack of fast mana and your usual motley crew of edh combos. This was done intentionally to limit feels bad moments where someone crushes the table because they drafted a combo that was tough to interact with or a strong mana rock that accelerated them in such a way that the rest of the table could not catch up. Archetypes are less relevant here than in some other cubes. you will start to notice trends the more you draft the cube but when you start out you will have a much better experience drafting good stuff cards rather than trying to force a theme.
First time drafter?
For new players to the cube I highly recommend spending your early picks on Signets//Fetchlands//Dual lands in that order. Building three or even four color decks is fairly easy in the cube and having a good foundation of mana fixing will make doing so that much easier. and try to have your primary color identity sorted out by your 3rd pick of pack 2. With your ultimate goal being to have your other colors sorted out going into pack 3.
The Book of Champions and Seeding.
If you win a commander pod you get a gold medal and your name gets signed into the book of champions. Your total of Gold Medals determines your draft seed as well as your pod. This means the 4 most successful players will be seated together both for the draft as well as your pod. This helps to ensure that newer players are playing with other new players and more experienced drafters will be playing against other veterans.
