Overview:
This cube is basically all of my favorite deck archetypes jammed into a pile a 450 cards. The cube uses a rarity system with each pack consisting of 2 rares, 3 uncommons, 9 commons, and a land, similar to Double Masters sets, but still drafted normally. The rarity system tends to make the format feel more bomby than most, but that is somewhat by design.

Design Process:
This cube was originally made using R&D’s design skeleton by first scaling up the ratios of commons, uncommons, and rares a pack would have up to 450 cube (plus adding some extra rares cause it’s more fun that way), and then using the ratios of card in R&D’s design skeleton to fill in that. This gave me the numbers of creatures of each mana value in each color at each rarity as well as the frequencies different keywords should show up. This process led to some odd inclusions at first such as Haze Frog, Muck Drubb, Fell the Pheasant, etc. in order to fit with the design skeleton’s curve and frequency of effects using only the current cards that exist. I also downshifted a lot of cards in rarity to up the power level of the cube from a traditional set. Overall I wanted to try to replicate making my own set along the lines of master’s set and follow R&D’s process. Since the cube’s initial creation, I have deviated from the design skeleton to allow for more synergistic inclusions and due to a lack of viable cards with the proper keywords. I still try to keep the mana curve and creature ratios similar to an actual set, but focus on ensuring all the cards are playable and synergistic rather than maintaining specific ratios of keywords and noncreature effects.
