I was going to write up a cutesy story about the players being corpos fighting over land grants from the central government to exploit, but that sounds like a lot of work for not much gain, so instead I'll give a quick rundown of what this cube is:
The cards in this cube were carefully chosen so that and
are effectively the same exact symbol. If something can make mana, it can make green mana as well (with the exception of Titans' Nest, which I felt like I had to run as an Interesting Dimir Card).
As a side effect of the above, each of the "four" colors is effectively that color + whatever guild it shares with green. I systematically changed the color identity of every single card in this cube to reflect that. This also means that you're going to see quite a few cards that might not make the cut in the gold sections of other cubes, since they're quick-and-easy to cast here.
Land Grant is effectively a fetchland replacer in this cube, so you should probably pick it pretty highly! The cube has a lot of synergies built around having a sorcery that you can cast for free in exchange for information, so keep an eye out for those.
I'm not the biggest believer in having discrete archetypes (read: I'm unorganized as heck), so instead I'll leave you to explore.
Hey! I'm pretty new to this Magic format, do you think this cube could work for 5 players? how the drafting would look like?
Have you ever thought about making a 2 player LOTR cube? What suggestions would you have for cutting this down to 180 cards? I would love to play this awesome cube but only have one magic playing friend.
