Neira's SynCom Cube!

The cube has a few special rules for drafting...But first, the basics. The cube is intended for a single pod of 4 players, as such its size may be strange. This is because in this commander cube players build 100 card decks. This keeps all proportions relatively close to more standard cubes, while allowing for more archetypes and synergies to exist due to the larger card pool. Although it does add time to the draft, I may seek a solution to this in the future. The draft format is 6 packs of 20 per player with 2 picks at a time. Although feel free to play around with other forms of drafting.

Now for the unique rules! This cube is designed so that every legendary creature has partner so long as the combined color identity of your selected commanders is no more than 3 colors. The cube will have 110 legends meaning there will be exactly 4850 different commander combinations! Not all of them will be very good of course, but with that many different options there will be plenty of room to exercise creativity and find interesting pairs! In addition, there will be draft matters cards and conspiracy type cards once the cube is complete to offer even more diversity among decks.

TLDR:

4 Players

  • Players gets 6 packs of 20 cards.
  • Players pick 2 cards at a time.
  • Commanders have partner as long as their combined color identity is 3 or fewer colors.
  • Players build decks of 100 cards.

8 Players

  • Players gets 3 packs of 20 cards.
  • Players build decks of 60 cards.

More Details

As you can see some of the guild pairs have overlapping archetypes, while others have archetypes that are exclusive to them. This was simply the result of how the cube was constructed. I wanted each pair to have 2 major archetypes be supported, and I feel that that has been accomplished effectively. though it'll take some testing to see if all the archetypes listed have enough support to exist.

While drafting you may notice some legends in a color that don't seem to have a place with either of the pair's main identities. These cards are there to support other commanders in the cube and are intended as secondary commanders rather than primary ones. Regardless they should be easy enough to build around, as each of them should pair well with enough commanders that finding one during the draft shouldn't be difficult most of the time.

Some archetypes may be cut or replaced as I get feedback about how the cube plays. I'm happy to hear any feedback from any sources, I struggle to 'kill my darlings' so hearing feedback about what to cut from many people would be a huge help.
