This is a fun, portable, super casual and fast way to play games between cube rounds or while waiting for people to show up at commander night!
Big Deck (AKA Cubelet) RulesLBD can be played 1v1 or multiplayer. Games are fast, but they aren't boring! I have been very happy to see that games have all the strategic complexity of normal magic games, just at super speed. There's tons of interaction available, and plenty of cards that let you play aggro, midrange, or control. An opponent with cards in hand and a single mana open is a threat, and there is plenty of room for politics in multiplayer too.
The tiny starting life pool and creature size throws card evaluation out the window. End the Festivities is a bomb, and sometimes you gotta Disfigure your own Serrated Scorpion for the win. Where else can you play an Aegis Turtle and have your opponents groan at the thought of getting past it?
The deck is small enough you can throw it in your bag and have available whenever you want (and cheap enough to play unsleeved, if that's your jam). Care was taken to avoid needing tokens, ability counters, or other accoutrements. All you need is the deck, a handful of d6s, 1-3 friends, and 10 minutes.
LCI Testing List, plus adding in one very good little guy that I forgot about from WOE.
