This is my two-person quarantine home Battle Box (not a draft cube; see mtgbattlebox.com for format), intended for playing with a less-experienced player. Aiming for a lot of interesting decisions but nothing too complex, and for most cards to have good art, fun flavor, interesting mechanics, or ideally all three. Also including some throwback cards from my earliest mtg days for nostalgia-sharing purposes, and giving some preference to cards with alternate frames/extended art/foils/etc if I have them.
Goals and principles:
-Shared library; very limited library interaction/no searching.
-No mana ramp or land destruction.
-Minimal deprecated mechanics (Regeneration, Landwalk), no mechanics that reward outside-the-game knowledge (Morph, Foretell).
-Games should focus on creatures, interactive spells, and combat tricks, and should remain interesting until the end. Minimal repetitive/runaway-value cards. Goal is to have fun with cool cards, not to build an engine or generate slow incremental advantage.
-Max size will probably be around ~360, so absolutely still in-progress and expanding.
Land packs: 5 basics + Cinder Barrens, Meandering River, Submerged Boneyard, Timber Gorge, Tranquil Expanse.
Looking around here at other Battle Boxes for inspiration!
