Charming Battlebox

A Battlebox focusing on charms and generally cards with many different modes allowing for the largest amount of options and decisions at each point of the game while decreasing the dependency on topdecking the right card. It mostly includes creatures, instants and sorceries in order to create highly interactive and fair games. The battlebox also includes many multicolor spells, making the selection of which lands to play an important part to consider. Finally, the battle box includes several themes that synergize with each other in different ways and can be setup by all players .

Rules:

  • 2-4 players
  • Shared library, otherwise own hand, graveyard, land and battlefieldzone
  • Each player receives 10 lands in an outside "command" zone which can be played as if they where in a players hand
  • Start with 4 cards in hand, no mulligans

Notes:

  • No land destruction
  • No ramp or fixing
  • No tutors (spell selection is created by looting, and casting or returning spells from the graveyard)
  • No plaineswalkers
  • No spells which only draw cards
  • No effects that draw more than 2 cards (value is for instance created by looting cards with flashback or unearth)
  • Few artifacts
  • Few enchantments
  • Few game ending bombs (at least this is the intention)
  • Balanced/flat powerlevel in relation to cmc (at least this is the intention)

Themes:

  • Spellslinger
  • Multicolor
  • Sacrifice
  • Token
Mainboard Changelist+1, -1

While high cmc threats cannot be too strong considering the guaranteed land drop every turn in line with the Battle Box rules, they still need to have some direct impact as one is otherwise just easily out-tempoed. Great Oak Guardian seems very balanced in that regard, surprise blocking most things and/or buffing the team for lethal.
