Innistrad is my favorite of MTG's many, many planes and I wanted to pay homage to that with this cube.

While not every card is from one of the now 7 sets based on Innistrad, every card that isn't from one of those 7 sets depicts either a character, event, location, piece of artwork or quote from somewhere/someone on the Gothic Horror Plane (ex. Odric, Master Tactician; Dismantling Blow).

I am a Commander player at heart, and I wanted to find the best way to combine both Commander and Innistrad, and I decided that this cube was the best way to do that. In an ideal situation, you have an 8-player pod of drafters each drafting 6 packs of 15 cards (or 3 packs of 30 cards) so each of you ends up with a 90 card draft pool.

While drafting, it will be important to select legendary creatures, as you'll need at least 1 of them to helm your deck. The catch? Each legendary creature and planeswalker (with the exceptions of Tamiyo Field Researcher, Edgar Markov and Lynde Cheerful Tormenter) have partner, so you can have multiple different combinations of commanders and archetypes to build. Because of this, you should always have enough cards to build a deck given your (likely 3 color) commander's color identity.

Additionally, every legendary permanent and "Story Spotlight" card is in this cube (or will be) for the purposes of flavor.

Of course, you can also just play this cube as a normal 40-card draft set, but it wouldn't give you the same feel as drafting and building a commander deck from this pool of cards.

If you find any cool interactions or combos that you want to share, please leave a comment! I am in the final process of completing this cube on paper, and I will continue to update it as we get more and more Innistrad sets/cards from various sets depicting Innistrad events/art/characters/locations.
