This cube is constructed from a single full set of Ikoria and a full set of Commander 2020. M21 brought Hooded Blightfang, a snake
for deathtouch tribal that seems to be from Ikoria. As a result I'll add any new Ikoria themed cards that come into existence that
fit the cube.
As of this writing total cost for all these sealed products is around 260. You can mostly likely buy singles for cheaper if you
have a desire to assemble this list or something close to it.
I'm a big fan of ikoria as a limited format and was interested in how commander 2020 was themed alongside it. This led to me
considering the possibility of building an Ikoria expanded cube from Iko and the new Iko themed commander cards. My initial list
was too big and, frankly, lost a lot of the Iko flavor. I refocused and decided to try building a cube from just commander 2020
and Ikoria. This is the result.
I would suggest house ruling the companions to function as written as the new rule makes most of them unplayable and doesn't nerf
the strong ones enough to make it worth it.
The cube is designed to emulate the quirks and draft archetypes of a standard Ikoria draft, but with the additional depth and
breadth added by the expanded card pool.
