This is a budget peasant cube centered around the idea of creating a "core set" experience, or something resembling a retail limited playstyle and power level with less convoluted cards and evergreen mechanics. Ideally, this should be inclusive for newer players while offering depth for seasoned veterans. Extra mechanics throughout include flashback, kicker, and cycling giving players the option of smoothing their plays along different spots on the curve and turn cycle. Attacking and blocking should matter.

There are light tribal themes, though these do not include "lord" effects. The idea here is that if you are a red drafter, you will likely have some goblins so Arms Dealer is probably going to do some amount of work for you, but you shouldn't go out of your way to only draft goblins. Elves, zombies, and wizards are peppered throughout as well.

Conceptually, I wanted to have each of the different core archetypes featured here. Aggro, Midrange, Control, Ramp, and Tempo should all be viable options to draft, and within the color pairs you will find different strategies to achieve those archetypical goals.
