This cube seeks to provide its players with interesting game decisions without creating overly complex board states. For both experienced and new players alike, supporting the spectrum from aggro to control. No combos strategies that are indicative of degenerate play. While I love sagas, I also shied away from their complicated setup for newer players. There are five mono-colored planeswalkers, with simple powerful designs.
Aesthetic Considerations:
All cards are given in the 2003 or 2015 card frame, and there are no flashy art treatments given as well. As many of the cards as possible would make sense in a strict high fantasy world, with a special restriction on universes beyond cards. In addition, cards that reference magic story events that don't make much sense to newer players without context (like Brotherhood's End) are out.
Also note that the lands are of course meant to be proxied. I didn't use guildgates to encourage people to draft multi-colored aggro more, while making sure that there is no complexity from the lands.
