Vintage Cube featuring only cards printed in the 90s. Though it is fully powered, the overall power level is quite low, reflective of the cards of that time (I took the best ones I could find). There are powerful enablers but few strong payoffs or finishers, so the play will feel slow and grindy.

The card pool is intentionally broad and imbalanced, which is mean to be fixed through proper collation. Before each draft, packs are to be prepared as follows:

  1. Set aside the 24-36 most busted cards across the whole cube into a pile (Power 9, but also things like Sol Ring, Tolarian Academy, maybe Swords to Plowshares etc.) Deal out 24, one to each pack. This ensure more of them show up, and also smooths out the distribution. (1 card now for each booster)

  2. Separate out the 25 fixing lands (10x duals, 10x painlands, 5x tapped fetches). Deal out 24 one to each booster (2 cards per booster)

  3. Separate the cards in each color and artifacts into creatures vs non-creatures. Count out 28 creatures and 20 non-creatures per booster for Green, Black, White, and Red. For blue and artifacts swap it to be 28 non-creatures and 20 creatures . Shuffle together the creatures and non-creatures in each color pile. Don't add them to boosters yet.

  4. Shuffle together the rest of the lands and multicolor cards and count out a pile of 24, but don't add it yet either.

  5. Take 6 cards from each the 6 piles with 48 cards you made in steps 3 and the 24-card pile you made in step 4 and shuffle them together. From this shuffled mix, deal back 6 cards to each of the 7 piles so they all have 24 cards again.

  6. Shuffle each of those 7 piles together and deal 2 cards from each 48-card pile to each booster, and one card from the 24-card pile. That should add 13 cards to each bringing the total to 15 cards per booster.

Draft and enjoy!
