I first was introduced to MTG in January 2012, and it didn't take long for me to become more immersed than I could possibly have fathomed. But it was late 2014 when I discovered what has far and away proven to be my favorite format in all of Magic - this of course, is cube.

So, over my winter break that year I assembled this cube list - "Douglas's Cube" - my very first. Looking back on it still brings me much joy. It's amazing to see how far I've come since then (across almost 200 updates by summer 2020), but more importantly, it is a potent reminder for me of the beauty of this format. Since my friends and I had so much fun drafting a list that included such beauties as:

Believe it or not, this is here mostly for the memories of my cubing journey. That being said, hopefully some one else can enjoy the absurdity of a cube where the highest CMC blue creature is Dungeon Geists; there is a Stoneforge Mystic who's best possible target is Loxodon Warhammer; the only Simic lands available are Simic Guildgates; and you have equal odds of opening a Waveskimmer Aven or a Sol Ring.
