TL;DR
High synergy cube built to encourage interesting card interactions and provide interesting decision points for the players. Card synergy over raw card power.
Welcome, connoisseurs of cardboard to Cardboard Clash – a high synergy cube taking cards from all throught magics history. This format aims to be full of interesting interactions and synergy between cards. The aim is to promote interactive gameplay, while retaining a dash of the pure power that comes from playing with a traditional vintage cube. This list has been curated to encourage thoughtful deck construction and interesting lines of play to get the most power out of the cards available. The best decks combine cards together to create powerful engines and combos rather than utilizing the power of standalone bombs.
Cards that are extremely unreactive or gameplans that can lock out your opponent very early on have been limited. This aims to reduce the number of 'non-games' and to try and always give players opportunities to respond. The games aim to have a good back and forth, while being significantly more powerful, synergistic, and complex than traditional retail limited.
This cube hopes to showcase some of the interesting and unique mechanics from throughout Magic's history and provide a rich verity of options when drafting. Cards within the cube have been picked to try and promote cross pollination between archetypes, without any strict A+B combos. The aim is to allow the drafter to uncover new synergies each time.
This cube contains many powerful cards, but operates at a slight step lower than a traditional legacy cube; with the aims to promote a more fun and interactive gameplay.
Features Sorta SingletonLike most cubes, this is a singleton cube, with one notable exception – thee are two copies of each fetch land. Breaking the singleton rule for these powerful lands due to their power in facilitating other synergies and the general intersting gameplay decisions they promote.
Small and MightyCreatures in this cube boast a low average mana value, emphasizing enter-the-battlefield effects and activated abilities over sheer stats. Adapt your removal strategies to handle creatures with toughnesses of 3 or less, with larger creatures in the green domain posing a distinct challenge.
Back with a venganceThe graveyard takes center stage in this cube, with each color featuring strategies tied to this intriguing dimension. As a result, graveyard hate becomes a potent force, providing an additional layer of strategic depth.
Cool in ChromeArtifacts play a central role in this cube, contributing to synergies across all colors. The artifact type line becomes a crucial factor in both combat and combo scenarios, demanding careful consideration. Be prepared, as artifact hate carries more weight than you might anticipate.
