Context

My Legacy+ Cube is designed to be played on MTGO in addition to a paper copy. Cards that do not exist on MTGO will not be added to the cube. If you wish to join our online play group reach out to me on Twitter.

Restrictions

I maintain the spirit of a singleton restriction, not running multiple copies of the same card or cards that are strictly worse than others I do include. In addition to this, Planeswalkers are kept to a minimum. Each color shall not have more than two Planeswalkers. I do break singleton for Fetch Lands, Shock Lands, and Wasteland. Reasoning behind this will be expanded upon in Construction Goals.

Power Level

I aim to optimize my cube for power and consistency within the scope of what I deem to be 'fair' strategies. I exclude cards which are individually too powerful, provide fast mana, enable undesired strategies, or are generally unfun. My goal is to push the standard archetypes of aggro, midrange, and control while highlighting synergistic interactions.

Construction Goals

This cube was created to resemble the power level of constructed, along with the consistency in both mana and synergy constructed formats enable. This cube consists of nearly 20% mana fixing lands with 20 Shock Lands and 25 total Fetch Lands. Additional copies of Wasteland were added to punish greedy mana bases and answer powerful lands. Construction Notes

Repercussions of these changes are generally as follows

  • Ramp resides predominantly in green
  • Mana bases are better, but not without cost
  • Two color decks fight 3+ colored decks for lands more often
  • Delve, Landfall, Escape are all buffed
  • Cards that rely on shuffling or the graveyard are buffed
Banlist

My cube does not have an exact banned list, but generally cards that fall under certain categories are not included. Some cards deemed too powerful for the legacy format are still included as they are not game warping in powerful, more limited environments. Below are examples of cards purposefully excluded.
