A Commander cube for 2 and 4 players
How to Draft
Two Players
- Grid Draft (4x4 grid) - Both players draft from 18 grids of 16 cards, resulting in a pool of 63 to 72 cards to build their deck. Learn how to do a Grid Draft.
- Housman Draft - Players get 6 cards and make 4 changes from a grid of 16 cards. Play 10 rounds to get a pool of 60 cards. Learn how to do a Housman Draft.
Four Players
- Booster Draft - Each player drafts from 4 packs of 15 cards, picking 2 cards each turn, to end up with a pool of 60 cards.
Deckbuilding Rules
- Commander Selection - Choose a Legendary creature as your commander. Following Commander Masters rules, all mono-colored legendary creatures have the Partner ability. To ensure players can play the colors they have drafted, each player may use up to 2 The Prismatic Pipers as their commanders.
- Deck Size - The deck must contain at least 60 cards, including the commander(s). It is recommended to use around 25 lands, similar to the 17 lands typically used in a 40-card Limited deck.
- Color Identity - Decks must adhere to the color identity of the commander(s). Only cards within the commander's color identity are allowed in the deck.
How to Play
Two Players
Play 1 vs. 1 with a starting life total of 30. The player who goes first doesn't draw a card on their first turn.
Four Players
Play a regular Commander game starting at 40 life.
Notable Absences
Staple cards like Sol Ring and Command Tower have been excluded from this cube. Including universally powerful cards can reduce variety and create power level imbalances. To maintain a diverse and balanced format, these cards are deliberately omitted.
