Rulings FAQ

This cube adheres to typic rules of magic with scarce exception.
m denotes an exception to the rules or clarification of oracle rules text compared to the printed text of a card.
c denotes a helpful reminder for some specific interactions of the listed card within this environment.

Council's Judgment
c The effect of this spell does not target, ignoring effects such as Hexproof, Protection and Shroud.

Dress Down
c If an effect grants a creature an ability after Dress Down has entered the battlefield, it won't lose that ability. For example, if a land becomes a creature while Dress Down is on the battlefield, it will still gain any abilities given to it by the effect that animated it. It will, however, lose any abilities it already had.
c This card causes creatures whose power or toughness relies on a characteristic-defining ability to be killed. For example, Tarmogoyf or Master of Etherium.

Ephemerate
c When a spell is cast from exile as a result of Rebound, it is resolved normally and sent to the graveyard.

Fastbond
m Oracle text: "You may play any number of lands on each of your turns. Whenever you play a land, if it wasn’t the first land you played this turn, Fastbond deals 1 damage to you."

Grist, the Hunger Tide
c Anywhere but on the battlefield, Grist is a Legendary Planeswalker Creature — Grist Insect. Once it enters the battlefield, it is no longer a creature and is just a planeswalker. Anything that could search for or affect a creature or planeswalker card in zones other than the battlefield could affect Grist.

Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis
c Mana cannot be spent to cast this spell. Costs paid by the effects of convoke are able to pay colored mana corresponding to the colors of the creature which convokes. The same is not true of costs related to Delve.

Lurrus of the Dream-Den
m Play this card as written. Ignore any errata to companion rules.

Memory Lapse
m Oracle text: "Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, put it on top of its owner’s library instead of into that player’s graveyard."

Oust
c If the targeted creature’s owner has one or more cards in their library, that creature is put into that library directly under the top card.

Phyrexian Revoker
c This card's first ability does not use the stack and can't be responded to. The word 'as' does not imply a triggered ability.

Snapcaster Mage
c Granting a spell flashback does not alter any timing restrictions. Sorceries must still be cast at sorcery speed.

Spellskite
c Spells and abilities may be directed to Spellskite even if it is not a valid target. For example, if an opponent attempts to equip an equipment to a creature they control, and you activate Spellskite's ability. The equipment is not equipped to the initial target because it was re-directed by Spellskite, nor is Spellskite equipped because it is not a valid target.

True-Name Nemesis
c This card's first ability does not use the stack and can't be responded to. The word 'as' does not imply a triggered ability.

Winota, Joiner of Forces
c This card's ability triggers once for each non-human creature which is declared as an attacker.
