INTRO
This is a multiplayer EDH cube based on Brandon Sanderson’s cube. The ideal number of players is 6, but there are enough cards to play with a group of 8. The power level of this cube is mid to low. It doesn’t run many modern or legacy playables, but instead focuses on big threats in each of the respective shards and guilds that wouldn’t normally see play. There is little acceleration or removal
in this cube in an attempt to keep the power level down. The goal of this cube is a fun draftable experience that keeps decks as even as possible.
RULES
- Players can use any legendary creature or planeswalker to act as their commander.
- Nephilim automatically count as legendary
- Players will start with 30 life
- One free mulligan is allowed and then London mulligan will be used
- Hybrid mana costs are considered "or" when looking at identity (a W/R hybrid costed spell can go in a mono red commander deck)
THE DRAFT
Players will draft 4 packs of 20 cards in order to build a 60 card commander deck. Players get 2 picks per pack. Each player will also start with the following cards in his or her pool:
- 1x Command Tower
- 1x Commander’s Sphere
- 1x Arcane Signet
- 1x Evolving Wilds
This is to aid in mana fixing as the cube is built around multi-color decks but these cards are not required as part of your 60 card deck.
Partner Pile - Cards with heart stickers have their partner card in a separate 'partner pile'. Some cards in the partner pile are not necessarily creatures. If you draft a card with this sticker you may look through the Partner Pile and add the card that is referred to into your pool.
At the conclusion of the draft, certain regalia effects will occur and will be resolved in drafting order starting with the
highest die roller (for example, some regalia prompts the user to search the undrafted cards for other cards and add those cards to the drafters pool). Whoever rolls the high roll gets to start searching the undrafted cards first but that same player goes last for the game.
REGALIA
Like in Brandon Sanderson’s cube, this cube will include draftable regalia. These act as “equipment” to your commander but only affect the way you build your deck. There are four types of regalia and a commander may only have one of each type attached to it.
Crowns - Change your commanders color identity
Scepters - allow you to search undrafted cards
Cloaks - allow you to use off-color cards
Thrones - Change who your commander can be or how they work
