Cloned from Ixalan Block Cube
I am overhauling the cube list to incorporate all the new cards that came with LCI, LCC, and the other cards with the plane's art since the original Ixalan in... uh... 2017? Wow. Time flies.
The archetypes are up for grabs still, and I do updates for a block cube like this in a way where I just add everything and cut stuff that looks dumb; then I cut archetypes not supported, and then I start tuning it. I'll have more to update in the future. I am not making it 360 anymore, I am pretty sure. We'll see!
There's a lot more playables in LCI than there were in 2017. ;)
OLD OVERVIEW:
An attempt to eternalize the draft format I had when I got back into Magic in early 2018 after getting into MtG: Arena. This cube will be a singleton 384 of the best of Ixalan Block, composed of Ixalan and Rivals of Ixalan. I took out some duds and some cards that ruined the draft format. The draft environment is 384 cards, so draft it as 3 packs of 16 to include the lands I put in if doing 8 people.
Archetypes are as follows:
WU - Ascend flyers and tempo.
WB - Vampire flavored midrange. Wide tokens or aggro with great removal.
WR - Aggro dinos, haste, first/double strike, Path of Mettle combat shenanigans.
WG - Big blockers and life gain. Token sub-theme.
UB - Pirate treasure control. Lots of bounce and removal, and treasures buff the pirates.
UR - evasion hyper aggro. Pirates kinda, but if you flip Storm the Vault, you're emptying it.
UG - merfolk tribal. Can go wide/tall, with counters and Hadana's Climb or tokens and enchantments.
BR - Truly the Treasure pirates. Beating down with the best removal in the set.
BG - Explore-town recursion. Journey to Eternity and ETB effects mean you'll dig through your deck.
out.
RG - Dinos and ramp. Get big mana then big baddies. Turn sideways.
WRG - Naya Dinos with cost reduction. If you get the Naya Dino payoffs, it's fun!
UBR - Grixis Pirates Control. Not as good as any of the 2 color pairs inside of it.
This was my first cube.
