Roaming Buffalo: Commander Cube
Roaming Buffalo Cube
This cube is the third iteration of a Commander-centered cube. With similar rules to the Commander Legends draft format - this cube intends to replicate the experience of Commander in a multiplayer setting.
Cube Rules
Most of the Commander rules stay intact for this cube. This is a singleton format, each player starts with 40 life, and commander damage is still relevant. However, drafted decks consist of 60 cards rather than 100 and decks may only contain drafted cards within your selected Legendary Creature's color identity. All instances of the "Partner with" and "Choose a Background" mechanics will be ignored on cards that include them. However, all mono-colored Legendary Creatures will have "Partner" added to their abilities. This means you can have up to two mono-colored Legendary Creatures as your deck's commander.
Draft Format
Each player will begin the draft with a Starter Pack. They will keep the entire contents of the pack. These packs contain a couple of basic Commander staples or cards to help your deck come together. (Its not very fun to have to first-pick a Sol Ring)
The Starter Pack contains: (1) The Prismatic Piper, (1) Sol Ring, (1) Arcane Signet, (1) Command Tower, (1) Conspiracy Set Card
Each player will then draft three (3) seeded packs of twenty (20). Similar to Commander Legends, you will select two cards every time you are passed a pack. The packs are seeded the following way:
- (2) Mono White cards
- (2) Mono Blue cards
- (2) Mono Black cards
- (2) Mono Red cards
- (2) Mono Green cards
- (2) Random Mono-Colored cards (can be any combination of white, blue, black, red, or green cards)
- (2) Multi-Colored cards (only two-color cards)
- (2) Colorless Non-Mana cards (no mana rocks, etc.)
- (2) Mana-Producing cards (mana rocks and lands)
- (2) Legendary Creatures (this is the only slot where you can receive a legendary creature)
