Tribes Everywhere!

Dinosaurs rule the earth, or was it vampires? Pirates? Maybe merfolk?

Intro

Welcome to Ixalan! Ixalan was the first magic set I played and now I want to travel back to the wonderful times of tribals and synergy. This cube is focused on synergy and making every guild playable. With the introduction of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan (LCI) more removal was introduced and the format is more focused around synergy and less about stick-a-bomb.

*Disclaimer: You who have played my pauper cube (Snow in Pauper-land) this cube are made by cards from the Ixalan sets where you have around 800 to choose from, there are almost 10 000 common cards to choose from. As the pool to choose from is small there will be a big varaity in quality of cards.

Ixalan Story

Deep in the heart of Ixalan’s verdant jungle lies a treasure beyond imagining. Secure in the ancient golden city of Orazca, the Immortal Sun is an artifact of mythic power that promises boundless wealth, the strength of empire, command over nature, and eternal life. For centuries it was only dimly remembered, veiled in legend, but now legend has become reality, and all the peoples of Ixalan seek the Immortal Sun and the power it promises. They will stop at nothing to claim it for their own.

The merfolk of the River Heralds and the humans of the Sun Empire have shared the continent of Ixalan for ages, sometimes warring, sometimes in an uneasy peace. But outsiders—first the treasure-hungry pirates of the Brazen Coalition and now the sinister fleets of the Legion of Dusk—have disrupted that delicate balance of power. And as the Legion of Dusk seeks to conquer Ixalan, all four peoples are catapulted into a desperate search for the golden city and the treasure it holds.

A whole world waits to be discovered. Ancient ruins from the Sun Empire’s heyday can now be found, overgrown and half-buried, in the depths of the jungle. Sacred springs infused with magical power well up from high mountainsides. Hidden coves hold pirate treasures stowed by captains long forgotten. Brave explorers from all four peoples uncover such sites as they scour Ixalan in search of the golden city.

Notable Exclusions

Unkillable - Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Nezahal, Primal Tide, Carnage Tyrant, Polyraptor, Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal - With the lack of efficient removal especially in red and green. Creatures that can't reliably be removed by all colors are not included.

Planeswalkers - Angrath, the Flame-Chained, Huatli, Radiant Champion, Vraska, Relic Seeker, Huatli, Warrior Poet - Planeswalkers wrap the format too much. With the lack of planeswalker removal and not every color having a planeswalker this will result in an imbalanced cube.

Shards/Wedges - Zacama, Primal Calamity, Admiral Beckett Brass, Xavier Sal, Infested Captain, Tetzin, Gnome Champion - While it would be fun to include 3 colored support, the Ixalan format have too little and too bad fixing so it wouldn't be viable.
