This cube was constructed with the design goal that the cards included must be printed in the MTG old retro border and have play patterns that feel like older game plan design. Newer cards that are printed in the old border were considered as long as they played in similar ways to old magic and made sense with the other aesthetics of the cube.

This cube is built with a rare module of 48 rares, 24 of which are randomly selected for each draft. The goal of this rare module is to make sure that some of the most powerful cards are not in every draft, and different cards may push drafters into different directions. All of the paper cards that are rare have a smiley face sticker between the perfect fit and the outer sleeve, so they are clearly marked in each pack.
