Gelatinous Cube Rules and Erratas

General Rules:

  1. "Cards you own from outside the game" and similar effects refer to cards not included in the cube that you actually own

  2. If a card is added to a game then it becomes part of the draft pool of the player who added it

  3. If a card ends a game in exile, then it becomes no longer part of the cube and it is set aside for the redraft at the end of the event.

3a) Any cards removed from the game by any cards with erratas are also set aside for redraft

  1. Some cards are labelled as "Protected" if a copy of a protected card would be removed from the cube at any point, it is shuffled into the body of the cube instead. There is a list of protected cards below.

  2. Cards not added to the game from booster packs opened by players due to card instructions are owned by the player who opened them, not the cube

  3. In order for a player to concede, their opponent must agree to accept it.

Card Specific Rules:

Look at me, I'm the DCI

  1. When a card is named with Look at me, I'm the DCI, if that card is not currently on the cube banlist that card is added to the cube banlist. All copies of the named card are removed from the game of the player who named the card (copies in libraries, on the battlefield, in graveyards, in exile, in the sideboard and in any other game relevant zone)

  2. If the card that is named is already on the banlist, then the card becomes unbanned instead

  3. Protected cards cannot be named

  4. Between rounds all players must check the banlist to make sure their draft deck and pool are still legal, and remove any newly banned cards.

Decorated Knight

  1. Cards "exchanged" out of the cube are considered to have been removed and will be part of redraft at the end of the event.

Spike, Tournament Grinder

  1. In addition to cards that have been banned in some constructed format, Spike can also choose cards banned from the cube. If this is done, the cards in question must be removed from the cube at the end of the game

Collector Protector

  1. the cards given by collector protector are considered to have entered the cube and become part of sideboard of the player they are given to

Wizened Arbiter

  1. The card exchanged out of the game is considered "removed" and will be part of the redraft

Deal Broker

  1. Players may offer both cards in their pools and cards they own from outside the cube, in either case any cards traded become part of the draft pool after trade
