Introduction

Formerly known as "$<3.00 USD (Per Card) Cube"

Inspired by Jumpstart, my friends and I wanted a "lower" power format where we could still play with relatively powerful cards at a reasonable budget.

Most of the cards I put into here are (as the name of the cube used to suggest) <$3.00 (at the time of when I put them into the cube), but sometimes you'll find that some things spike out of this range. Hopefully it still keeps the costs of the cube down, as most of the cards will be ones players have in their collections already, or cards opened from various booster boxes or other sources.

I also had a secondary goal of introducing the newer players in the playgroup to cooler mechanics and interactions without overwhelming them with craziness you may see in hardcore constructed decks. This was a good outlet to play cool cards, use most of my chaff, and curate an environment of mostly fair and fun Magic!

This project grew into a quite a labor of love and an expression of the type of MTG I love to play and see. Most of the cards in the list have been upgraded to be very fancy/bling versions, but almost all of them can be acquired (in their base versions/cheapest printings) for less than $1.00 for the budget conscious!

Previous iterations of the cube had more shard/wedge options, but I found that by keeping things more localized to 1-2 colors and not necessarily focusing on 3, the play experience was more fun! Splashing is still definitely possible though so give it a try!
