I really want to curate a Standard cube in paper to play at the LGS. I already follow Standard sets pretty closely and play a regular amount of retail limited. I feel like it will be fun to make adds and cuts for each set and then do big overhauls during rotation. I plan to look at 17 lands data for top performing commons and uncommons and have a narrower powerband with few mythic and rare bombs.
The archetypes are starting to come together:
UW - Artifacts, vehicles.
UB - Graveyard shenanigans and mill.
RG - Sacrifice.
RG - Poor gruul, what do you do? the signposts in this color pair are terrible. The recent sets that have had good decks were tribal (dinos/wolves). Trying to steer away from typal for this cube.
GW - Augmented power. +1/+1 counters, auras etc.
BW - Lifegain, reanimate.
UR - Non-creatures spells, artifacts.
BR - Graveyard.
RW - Celebration plays really well with discover and equipment.
UG - Big spells, transform.

Give it a playtest and let me know what you think!
Adding some cards to the maybeboard based on numbers crunched by Sierkovitz in this article.
