Hi Everyone,

This is my vintage cube. This, as with all cubes, is designed and constructed to function as a standalone limited environment where players draft from the pool of 540 of Magic the Gathering's "Greatest Hits".

If you are new to vintage cube, I encourage you to check out the below link written by Louis-Scott Vargas "LSV" as it provides and excellent overview of the principle strategies one should look to employ when drafting a vintage cube.

https://www.channelfireball.com/article/the-ultimate-guide-to-cube-part-1-the-cards/76a95f43-fb14-42a6-bfa1-6227244f6dd6/?utm_medium=stratredirect&utm_source=lgstrat

This cube is designed primarily for the following: fun, creativity, strategy, nostalgia and above all else... POWER! It is also designed to give players a flavour of some of the most iconic strategies in the vintage constructed format.

Before we get into archetypes, let's talk about why we all love vintage cube... the power level and the cards that make this vintage cube the most exciting, high variance and explosive limited format around.

The Power Cards

These cards as a general rule, you just should never pass if you can avoid it!

Archetype Breakdown:
Below, are some of the main archetypes one should look for in my cube but note, these are broad brush and by no means exhaustive.

1) Aggro/Aggressive Midrange rr / rw / ww

The mono red and WW decks set the pace, and you should always have a plan in mind for dealing with their hyper-efficient threats.

2) Time Vault

The "Vault/Key" combo is a personal favourite and the fastest infinite combo in Mtg. Most of the enablers also combo explosively with The One Ring. The keys also fit into several other cube archetypes, so they aren't very parasitic. The speed and potency of this combo will force opponents to hate draft and to more highly value cheap interaction and artifact disruption!

3) Doomsday bu

Another vintage cube all star and famously difficult to interact with, this combo heavy deck relies on deep strategy and good timing to utilise the win con from Thassa's Oracle to close out the game. Cards such as Black Lotus, Lions Eye Diamond, Ancestral Recall, and Dark Ritual go a long way to making this strategy as effective as possible.

4) Storm ru / bu

One of the most difficult but rewarding strategies to go for. Players looking to "Storm off" are relying on classic finishers like Brain Freeze & Tendrils and key enablers like Underworld Breach and Yawgmoth's Will to kill.

**5) Reanimator ** bb / bu / br

Utilising both traditional, sorcery-speed reanimation variants utilizing Reanimate, Animate Dead, Necromancy, and Life//Death, as well as instant-speed reanimation decks that use Shallow Grave & Corpse Dance to annihilate their opponents with Eldrazi, the reanimator deck is a powerful strategy that can close games quickly! Splash u for more options (like Flash, Frantic Search, Ledger Shredder, etc.), or r for additional discard outlets such as Faithless Looting, Fable of the Mirror Breaker.

**6) Wheel Mania! **

This combo build anchors itself by pairing some or all of the cube’s four “Draw 7” spells (Timetwister, Wheel of Fortune, Time Spiral, Echo of Eons), alongside cards which punish an opponent for (attempting to) draw cards (Hullbreacher, Narset, Parter of Veils, Sheoldred, Orcish Bowmasters). Supplementing this core combo should be a host of tutors, cantrips, draw effects, counter spells, and removal/disruption, and Fastbond.

7) Artifacts / Tinker

8) Lands Matter

9) Control

10) Time Walk Recursion

11) Sneak & Show

**12)Eureka / Oath **

13)Green Ramp

Other Notable Combos

Dark depths / Thespian's Stage

Thopter Foundry / Sword of The Meek
