This is my peasant cube, started in 2017.
All five colors support ETB abilities, and each color supports a couple different archetypes.
COLOR | ARCHETYPE |

![]() | Spellslinger, Blink, Flying, Draw/Looting |
![]() | Reanimator, Aristocrats, Life Drain |

Nothing is banned for power reasons - if something is "too powerful," I'll add more answers.
Combos are welcome, but only if the individual cards merit running on their own.
-I avoid printings that fail to explain set-specific mechanics (for example, Usher of the Fallen has one printing that explains Boast and one that does not); by ensuring that reading the card really does explain the card, I make it easier for my drafters who may have forgotten the specifics or simply missed the set.
-I only run cards with a black or silver rarity symbol, so no rare printings of Peasant-legal cards.
-I don't run any double-faced cards to avoid sleeving/unsleeving issues, and Day/Night is doubly ignored because it adds a lot of unnecessary bookkeeping.
Magic: The Hattening continues with racing helmets. I dislike Start Your Engines! and Max Speed and a lot of the art and the piss borders.
But I love Skyserpent Seeker, and it is the only card from this set that I'll be adding, though I did consider a few others. As a 2-mana Flying Deathtouch with card advantage, it compares to Baleful Strix, though not as good. But it discourages strong attacks, ramps, flies, has +1/+1 counter synergy, and is all around good.
Other cards I considered but declined include Defend the Rider and Gloryheath Lynx.
