This is a previous version of my cube from post Modern Horizons 2019.

A separate cube (174b) is the current iteration on cube cobra with cards through sets Strixhaven/Commander 2021/Modern Masters 2, etc.

Goal of this cube:
This cube is designed to celebrate synergistic creature tribal decks, multiplayer matters sets (Commander & Battlebond), draft matters sets (Conspiracy & Conspiracy: Take the Crown), as well as alternate play experiences from “Oversized” magic variations (Hero's path, Vanguard, Planechase, or Explorers of Ixalan Tiles). Players who enjoy those formats and lots of mechanic interactions will enjoy this cube.

Expect Complexity:

Overall, it is a cube that is designed to have a lot of replay ability. The volume of mechanics on the included cards is
substantially larger than a traditional set. As such, one of the primary mechanics of creature tribal and class tribal can be very
complex. While this is not meant to dissuade you, it is just setting an expectation. This cube draft experience can just as easily
be incredibly rewarding on repeat drafts.

Word of Caution:

Given the description in the paragraph above, This is not necessarily a cube for new players.

That isn’t to say that a newer Magic: the Gathering Player wouldn’t necessarily enjoy this cube environment.Just that it would
take a longer period of time to learn from on your first encounter with Magic.Absolutely, I would love for new players to enjoy
this cube. However, I am also just being realistic in that the board state can get complex in a hurry, which can become
overwhelming for some players. So as a result, with fair warning, this cube may have a steep learning curve for anyone new to
Magic: the Gathering.

Playing Matches:

Ideally, my preference in the structure of the draft tournament is using the conspiracy tournament style of play back when it
first released.I very much enjoyed that style, but it is not required, just a preferred game play variant.

The games in the above scenario would be a four player free for all game that would break to the next round based on the top two
players in each four person pod. I.e. the winner and the runner up in the four person game.Assuming 8 or more players, the winners
would then divide up into two new pods of four and repeat the process until there is only 1 winner in the last pod pairing. The
same idea would be used for those who were knocked out in prior rounds to get to keep playing as able.

Establishing Packs:

As of 2/4/2020 3 packs of 16 cards each (same for bonus packs).

The design of the draft can be either 3 packs of 15 or even 5 packs of 15.My preference would be 5 packs of 15 in smaller draft
pods (less than 8), however even with drafting 3 packs of 15 on the sample draft has made for a lot of decent decks.Take a look at
the "Decks tab" for many of my tested drafts looking at two color pairs for drafting. The extra cards in a 5 packs of 15 would give
the possibility to draft more conspiracies and synergistic cards to make each game play experience unique as well as further tune
an archetype.3 packs of 15 has proven to be quite adequate overall given the possibility of bonus packs when the cube was 784
cards. With the additional themes from Theros it was necessary to bump the number of cards per pack up to 16.

720 cards initially:

This cube was initially and purposefully made to be 720 cards as doing so takes away the predictability that some cubes have with
smaller card pools in the 360-540 card range. It is not that those cubes aren't good, it is what will make this one different from
them as It is designed to make each play through less predictable.Hopefully, players will enjoy the experience of not knowing if a
particular card made it into the draft pool.Ideally, to simulate the experience of drafting an actual set of cards where there is
no guarantee of a card appearing.Whereas in contrast, a smaller cube can be very nice in guaranteeing that every card will be
drafted and likely take less time in game play. With at least 720 cards in an 8 person draft there is still another 360 cards that
may or may not have made its way into the draft environment. But there is always Lore Seeker that can change this number on
occasion.

767 Cards:

Speaking of, I increased the cube size :)

Thanks to the balancing done at 720 cards I have found an additional cards per color to include. This also adds in another 7
tri-color legendary creatures for drafting. This increase would be to allow a 16 player cube draft the opportunity to make
mathematical use of the 3 Lore Seekers that are in the current cube list assuming it is drafted with 3 packs of 15 cards for all
16 players with a chance for 3 additional 15 card “Lore Seeker packs.”There would likely just be 2 cards remaining that wouldn’t
be drafted in that scenario.

784 Cards:

Added another bonus pack :D

So many great new cards from Throne of Eldraine came out and I just had to find a way to incorporate each of the mono color
nobles, knights, and the liege cycle from the Shadowmoor/Eventide sets.

832 Cards:

Given the testing done on cube tutor in January 2020 with the updates from Theros Beyond Death it became clear that devotion would
become a desired archetype. As such better support for devotion was needed. To accommodate I added 48 additional cards to increase
the main draft packs from 15 to 16 cards.

Why 700+ Cards?

The size was not only due to the conspiracy mechanic, but also was inspired by card set sizes. It isn’t quite the same as a card
pool from a 3 set limited block draft environment, but it is part of the goal to have at least 3 Sets worth of cards to choose
from.I compared it to Conspiracy 1 (210 cards), Conspiracy 2 (222 cards) , and Battlebond (280 cards). These three sets were the
genesis for the cube.In total this 3 set "block" amounts to 712 cards which I rose to 720 and am now increasing to 767 since in a
rare chance should 16 people actually ever draft the cube at once then it would be exactly enough. Then adding a fourth bonus pack
plus increasing each of the bonus packs to 16 cards brought the cube to 784.The Conspiracy and draft matters mechanics tend to
reward multiple versions of the same card.As you review the card list you’ll find a large portion of duplicate and triplicate
cards. With the move to 832 cards I made two new exceptions for colorless cards as they impact the draft.Cogwork Librarian is the
only card to get 5 copies to aide in development of your draft.Cogwork Grinder is the only 6 cmc card to have 3 copies. This
necessitated from the need to ensure Worldknit players could “reduce” the size of their draft pulls with the additional cards
being added. Otherwise it may make that archetype more difficult to pull off in gameplay and construction.

Why No Commander Pre-con Foils?

This cube is designed to use only cards that are NON-foil.It is double sleeved with penny sleeves and perfect fit sleeves. As such,
many foils still curl and become easy to identify. So as to not worry about this I do not include them. For this reason as well I
also do not include any dual faced cards since the sleeves are see through. One day once I can get enough high quality and same
design of sleeve for all the cards I might reconsider the dual faced cards.

No Prior to 8th Edition Card Frames?

Correct.Similar to foils and dual faced cards, in order to limit the potential of people determining what cards are coming around
I am keeping all cards included in a modern frame as much as possible.Aside from Conspiracies, there previously was one other type
of bordered card in the silver boardedSword of Dungeons & Dragons. It was included as both Rogues and Clerics are featured as
tribes. However, to make room for mana fixers I had to remove it.I am hoping for a Sword of Warriors and Wizards one day to have
protection from other classes in the cube.Should that other sword become a reality, then I may consider adding it back in again.

But in general what I am aiming for is to not have older version of cards in this cube for drafting purposes. This includes
limiting or excluding any potential use of white bordered cards and or gold bordered cards. If ever a reprint came to rotlung
re-animator, 2 copies of the new printing would immediately find its way into the cube.In general, I have found that having this
same aesthetic across all cards reduces the likelihood that someone could determine what cards from what pack have been drafted
and potentially by whom.

Determining Multiple vs Single Cards:

For the purpose of balancing and drafting many 1, 2, and 3 cmc cost creatures (who are not draft matters, nor legendary, nor Rare,
nor Mythic) will have three copies, then rares would have two copies and mythics/legendary each have 1.4 & 5 cmc creature cards
usually have two copies of each, unless they are mythic or legendary. After this anything 6 mana or more will only have one copy.
There are a few exceptions to this rule as it pertains to draft impact cards. The 3 that come to mind are: Lore Seeker, Cogwork
Librarian, and Cogwork Grinder.

Similarly, the non-creature spells follow a similar structure. For the purpose of balancing and drafting many one cmc cost
non-creature spells (that are not legendary, nor Rare, nor Mythic) will have three copies, then rares would have two copies and
mythics/legendary have one.2, 3, & 4 cmc non-creature cards usually have two copies of each, unless they are rare, mythic, or
legendary. After this, anything 6 mana or more will only have one copy. You may also notice that there are not many 1 cmc creatures.
This is deliberate as in multiplayer I am designing it for everyone to hopefully get their deck engine up and running and not
overly dominated by anyone else.Specifically ,1 cmc “creatures that produce mana” are excluded from the cube. There are many other
mechanics in the cube as well as conspiracies such as brago’s favor & secrets of paradise to help “build your own” mana producers
for 1 cmc.

How Many Basic Lands?

60 of each basic land are available for deck construction. With the addition of the new "Guild Kits" from Guilds of Ravnica, I am
looking to make 15 of each basic land type with the guild watermark the basic lands to supplement the cube.

The Sets That Inspired This Cube:

Battle Bond -New Cards and Mechanics.

Assist was a featured mechanic, but mostly removed it as it was a bit clunky with the themes that emerged here.Since it has
Support, I expanded to Oath of the Gatewatch Support mechanic cards.

Commander - Many of the product specific mechanics have been added and some removed - Join Forces (Removed April 2019), Tempting
Offer (Removed Nov 2018), Offering Cycle (Removed Nov 2018), Myriad (Removed Fall 2019), Undaunted, Confluence cycle, etc.

Conspiracy - All Mechanics have been considered at some point.Would like to see Monstrous mechanic make a comeback one day for the
cube.

Conspiracy: Take the Crown - Similar to the above, all Mechanics have been considered at some point.

Dominaria - Legendary creatures

Guilds of Ravnica - Surveil, Mentor, and Soldier Lifelink mechanics.

Ravnica Allegiance - Adapt.

War of the Spark-All 20 Uncommon Planeswalkers along with many U and/or B zombies.

Ixalan/Rivals of Ixalan - Merfolk & Explore

Lorwyn/Morningtide - Champion, Clash, Kinship, Prowl, Tribal card type. Most all creature tribal synergies and a significant
amount of Tribal creature support. (Many mechanics of these mechanics have been removed, some completely ie Clash, Prowl, and the
Tribal Card Type). Would add some of these mechanics back in if they get new and more relevant cards using these mechanics. I
really liked the usefulness of Clash paired with Undaunted and split cards. Would like to see many more impactful kinship & prowl
mechanic based cards.

Shadowmoor/Eventide - Liege Cycle, Hybrid cards for guilds, Chroma, & Retrace (removed).

Modern Horizons - Lots of new Rakdos Goblins and interesting removal and reanimation creatures.

Core Set 2020 - Cavalier cycle of Knights

Throne of Eldraine - Adventures, Legendary mono color nobles, and their knights.

Theros Beyond Death (and original Theros Block) -Demigods, Devotion, Gods, new Ashiok, and new Titans!

But Some Cards Are From Other Sets?

If a color or archetype truly lacked in an area I.e. removal that was not a featured adequately from the sets above then new cards
were added.Green saw a decent amount of this for removal options, ie Affectionate Indrik, Somberwald Stag, and Vivien Reid.See
also all of the "aftermath" card mechanics from Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation. The addition of the Morningtide tribal equipment
long served as a pay off strategy for anyone drafting a specific creature or class tribe. However, given the new War of the Spark
uncommon planeswalkers, the tribal equipment along with some conspiracies and cards like the "Magus" cycle most (all in some
cases) were removed made room for them. The new uncommon planeswalkers have added a depth to the tribal synergies. In many ways they
act in a manner like the conpiracies in that some provide a static lord effect for all creatures.

Creativity in Removal Spells:

Removal for Blue & Green was rough. In order to make the colors and Simic archetype more competitive Imprisoned in the Moon and
Song of the Dryads were added.Similarly, Beast Within, Lignify, Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, and Reality Shift were added. All of
these function as removal spells and in multiplayer/2HG encourages more opportunities for diplomacy among the board state for
colors who lack enchantment removal.Plus, if nothing else for some of these your opponents creatures removed this way still will
have utility in a long game. This style of removal is a theme in itself throughout the cube. For Blue and Green it became more
replacement rather than removal, which was very helpful in stabilizing their color pie.Green thankfully has been getting more
“Fight” mechanic spells like the aforementioned Somberwald Stag and Affectionate Indrik. As more removal and fight mechanics for
green get released, the cube may likely adapt to accommodate them.

Any Combo Archetypes?

Previously Yes.My favorite combo in the cube was using arcane Savant to exile Zndrsplt’s Judgment (and previously Tempt with
Reflections) to cause an infinite amount of Arcane Savant. The ideal was Zndrsplt’s Judgment as you can bounce your original Arcane
Savant to your hand to cast it later should things not go as planned. The version using Tempt with Reflections needed another
creature to target to end the loop.As is it doesn’t end the game on the spot, but if you get the trifecta of the conspiracy
Immediate Action then name Arcane Savant -all Arcane Savants have haste and can attack to end the game.Arcane Savant had another
infinite combo with Caller of the Untamed and Expropriate.Arcane Savant names Expropriate and Caller of the Untamed names Arcane
Savant. This could also be achieved with many of the flicker effects (Venser, the Sojourner).Another combo was Fell Specter using
mass discard spells like Magus of the Wheel or Incendiary Command.(The Magus Cycle and all specters have since been removed as of
April 2019).

In previous iterations the ideal combo to draft was Arcane Savant, Zndrsplt’s Judgement, and Immediate Action.

A not as powerful runner up combo that is fun is Turntimber ranger equipped with captain's claws. It is not a game over scenario,
just an example of a lot of value in each attack. The same could be said for the older archetype "boat brew" that uses flicker for
value I.e. Galepowder Mage plus other creatures likeKnight-Captain of Eos and Siege-gang Commander.Reveillark is also another
great target for some of these creatures when flickered.

Creature & Class Tribal Matters:

As was mentioned in the intro this is a Multiplayer Tribal cube.Upon review of the cards from many of the sets that inspired me to
make this cube, the card pool had a unique set of tribes. Those featured initially were cleric, rogue, shaman, soldier, warrior &
wizard to name a few. These lent the cube to fit exceptionally well with the creature tribes of Lorwyn as well as the Tribal
equipment from Morningtide. These remained for about a year until most all of these block specific mechanics were removed for War
of the Spark updates. As a result of the cube turning toward the tribal creature components, the conspiracies only further
reinforced the idea that these would all have a synergy together. There are very few true "all other ____ creatures get +1/+1"
style lords in the cube for a reason. The conspiracies act as a way to build your own pseudo-lord of sorts. In a way, the
conspiracies feel like the named creature and/or type have their own personal equipment that buffs that creature or creatures in
some way. Many of the creatures already have enter the battlefield abilities, which act as spells. These conspiracies make those
creatures even stronger. It also allows the creatures to help fill in some of the design space gaps from the lower than normal
instant & sorcery count in this cube.By removing the many true creature tribal specific lords (lord of atlantis, elvish archdruid,
etc) it helps prevent any one creature type from just dominating the multiplayer game.It also allows for the many other creature
"lords" to take the spotlight as potentially highly sought after picks or build around strategies.Past and current Examples:
Catapult Master, Surgespanner, Noxious Ghoul, Siege-Gang Commander, & Lys Alana Huntmaster. One day I may consider adding in the
"Gempalm" cycle. It is just that not all are currently available in a more modern card frame. At present the Gempalm Sorcerer and
Gempalm Polluter have yet to receive a modern day reprint.

Cycle Omitted From Inspired Sets:

The commander 2018 set has a cycle that is a bit too commander focused for the purpose of this cube so instead I added in a lot of
interesting new creatures that replaced some of the repetitive cards and even some of the mechanics all together I.E. Most assist
cards. The Confluence cycle has been added as part of this update since it was a commander cycle that was not yet in the cube.Maybe
one day the “Commander cast matters storm like spells” will be added. At least for now the list may have a couple other changes,
but I am excited with where these changes bring the cube today. Some mechanics that have beenremoved are Tempting Offer, Join
Forces (even my beloved Mana-Charged Dragon), and the “Offering” cycle. All of the Tribal Equipment were removed in April 2019 to
help make room for the 20 uncommon planeswalkers from War of the Spark.

I hope you find this cube helpful and fun.It continues to be a great experience.I am open to feedback and ways to improve the game
play.
