I have no idea what I'm doing here!
The idea here is to build a cube where gameplay is, fundamentally, built around lands. Packs are 20 cards to account for the fact
that players will need to draft ALL lands they need to play.
What that means, though, will be determined by the cards! This is going to be a very iterative process, in which I throw together
cards that say 'lands' and then see what comes out of the mincer.
So, when you see things that make no sense, that's probably why!
Some early ideas are emerging:
It makes sense for this to be a predominantly green cube. That said, there's room for 6 archetypes that I can see within that:
Mono-Green: Uncertain of Identity
Brown-Green: The is the Artifact Lands deck, which skimps on coloured mana costs in order to support a plethora of creature lands
and support cards for them.
Green-Blue: Wants to keep land count in play high
Green-White: Wants to keep land count in play low
Green-Red: Wants to pull land cards in and out of the graveyard
Green-Black: Wants to sacrifice lands
Thinking about some kind of emblem system to encourage/inform players to draft and build supported decks. Something like
You choose an emblem: Assassin's, Knight's, Behemoth's, Razer's, Protector's, or Cultivator's.
Assassin's (soft GB): During your turn, the first time you sacrifice a creature, untap target land you control.
Knight's (soft GW): At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control three or fewer lands, tap target creature an opponent
controls.
Behemoth's (soft GU): At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control a creature with power 6 or greater, draw a card.
Razer's (soft GR): During your turn, the first time you return a land card from your graveyard to your hand, you may put it onto
the battlefield tapped instead.
Protector's (soft G): Whenever you play your second land for the turn, untap it.
Cultivator's (soft G-Colourless): Land creatures you control that are attacking have +1/+0.
Note: If a 360 cube + drafted lands, should end up with 480 cards.
Currently running 50 wastes, 5 of each basic, 2 of each snow basic.
