Welcome!

Thanks for shambling your way over to this Innistrad-themed cube! The Innistrad Amalgamation includes cards from all sets that took place on the plane of Innistrad. I did my best to weave together themes and archetypes that span each iteration of Innistradian limited. A few cards from Innistrad-themed commander decks snuck in, also (e.g. Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, Leinore, Autumn Sovereign).

Humans, Spirits, Zombies, Werewolves, and Vampires make the up the core tribes of Innistrad. While this isn't exactly a tribal cube per se, kindred groups are present, and the aforementioned tribes are distributed fairly equally.

I wanted to actively avoid multi-color "good stuff" decks in favor of more traditional, two-color archetypes that feel more familiar to the plane. The bulk of the fixing comes from 5x Evolving Wilds and two copies of Traveler's Amulet. I also recommend pairing this cube with the following Halloween playlist on Spotify: Link

Bombs and Early Picks

Archetypes by Color Pair

wu Surreptitious Spirits
Azorius is characterized by spirits and fliers. While there is some recursion in the form of disturb (e.g. Covetous Castaway), this pairing profits mostly from tempo.

ub The Undead Cometh
To me, ub typifies Innistrad. There's often competition for this color pair, and vampires can easily seep into this theme through death trigger payoffs (I'm looking at you, Blood Artist.

br Middle School Goth Phase
The edgelord vampires of Innistrad dominate this color pair. Hallmarks like Olivia Voldaren are apt to make a special appearance. This particular pair is armed with excellent removal and a fast clock. A subtle helping of madness (Murderous compulsion) adds another layer of nuance to this combo.

rg Phases of the Moon
Gruul is classically the color of werewolves on Innistrad, and this is no exception. Werewolves are easily the most assertive and aggressive strategy in the cube.

wg "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers..."
Selesnya represents the human contingent of Innistrad. +1+1 counters, go-wide, strategies, and human tribal payoffs abound.

wb This Mortal Coil
Orzhov wants to sacrifice for value. This pair opts for death synergies, removal, and value creatures that don't mind a macabre ending.

ur I Put a Spell on You. . .
Much like the Sorcerer's Apprentice, the more you read off spells, the more you will give life to your side of the battlefield. Izzet profits from spells, and will likely create tokens based on instants and sorceries.

bg Let the Bodies Hit the Yard
Golgari cares about creatures and card types in the graveyard. Mill yourself and delve into the grim depths of nature.

wr Zealotry and Fervor
Boros is up there with the werewolf archetype for most aggressive. This pair aims to get creatures down early with big finishers in the 4-5 drop slots.

ug A Milli
Simic--much like Golgari--utilizes the graveyard for value. The blue inclusion makes flashing back and spell recursion more of a value and grindy play style.

Conclusion

Thanks so much for taking a gander. I recommend playing this cube in the fall for extra immersion.
