The aim of this cube is to provide an environment where it's easy to draft synergetic decks in each color combination. Archetypes
that encourage interactions between players are prioritized. This cube uses only cards legal in Modern and does not include
planeswalkers.
Below is a list of intended archetypes. Other kinds of decks are certainly possible, but these are prioritized when deciding which
cards to include.
ARCHETYPES
Each guild has its own archetype. My goal is to have at least 15 engines for each archetype and over 20 enablers. See multicolored
cards for examples.
UW: Azorius Blink
Creatures that have enter the battlefield (previous comes into play) effects and spells that blink creatures.
BW: Orzhov Aristocrats
Creatures that are easy to sacrifice and spells that benefit from sacrifice.
RW: Boros Pump
Cheap creatures, double strikers and mass pump.
GW: Selesnya Tokens
Many tokens.
UB: Dimir Ninjas
Hit face and benefit.
UR: Izzet Spells matter
Benefit from casting instants and sorceries.
UG: Simic +1/+1 counters
+1/+1 counters and spells that benefit from +1/+1 counters.
BR: Rakdos Spectacle
Cards that benefit from opponents life loss.
GB: Golgari Dredge
Get spells and creatures to graveyard. Cast spells from graveyard and put creatures to play.
RG: Gruul Ramp
Increase mana to get to big spells and creatures fast.
FIVE COLORS
Cast spells for free from library.
ColorlessArtifacts that care about other artifacts and modular.
Planned Single Color Tribes
The goal for single color archetypes is to provide some deck for those ending up in single color or close to it. These themes will
be weaker than guild themes and the goal is to have 7 engines and at least 15 enablers per theme.
White: Life gain
Blue: Card draw
