Set OverviewThis is a low powered multiplayer cube. Highly focused on synergy, the better you can draft with your partner, making strategic, synergistic decks, the better your chances are of winning.
The draft itself is more traditional, rather than similar to Battlebond. You and your partner will sit opposite each other at the table, player one with player five; two with six; three with seven; etc. During the draft, discussion is strictly forbidden, so no discussing strategies, or picks. Instead, between each pack you'll have a short period to review cards together with your teammate before opening and drafting the next pack.
Immediately after ending the draft, you'll be allowed to exchange one card with your ally (plus an extra card for each Deal Broker your partnership had) as you construct your decks, and begin battling.
The draft consists of three rounds, each best of one.
For beginners to limited format, the rules to draft is very simple. With a group, we'll each open up a 15 card pack. After examining the pack, you'll remove one card from it and add that card to your own card pool. Pass the remaining cards to the left, and pick up the pack that was passed to you from the left. Repeat this process until the packs are empty. You'll then open up two more packs, just like before, and pass them, taking just one card. Each new pack you open reverses the order you pass your pack. So pack 1 to the left, pack 2 to the right, and finally pack 3 to the left again. Once finished with these three packs, you'll construct a deck of 40 cards from your card pool. Basic land are provided, and its generally good to have roughly 17 lands in your deck. Now your deck is ready to play!
Special RulesThis cube has a couple of unique rules.
The first is trading. At the end of the draft you may exchange up to one card from your card pool for a card from your ally's card pool. Each Deal Broker you and your ally have in their card pool increases the limit by one card, meaning you could trade up to four cards with your ally in a perfect scenario.
The last unique rule is achievements. Achievements, are special objectives, that I introduced into my cube, to give players something more to go for than just the top. Achieving one of these challenges is sure to bring some very special moments! Completing an achievement gives you the privilege of signing the achievement card and immortalizing your name in the cube.
As always, any participant in the cube is allowed to sign one card from their card pool, that they particularly enjoyed playing with.
